20 Most Recent Panasonic VDR-M70 DVD Camcorder Questions & Answers

It is usual for camcorders to be set up to only transfer videos when mails powered. This it to prevent corruption of either the source files or the copies should there be an interruption in the power supply, such as a battery failing.

Unfortunately, there are no drivers for this device on the window 7 platform, either you are using a 64-bit or a 32-bit version of the windows, the manufacturers have clearly stated that the device cannot operate with the window 7 platform.
Unfortunately, this device is quite an old device and has not been confirmed to work on any recent version of windows(windows vista and windows 7). You can try to test it on other versions of windows to see if that helps.
Hope this helps?

Hi,

The requested operation requires elevation means that your machine reqires more adminster rights. There are 2 ways to get around this problem. Browse for the dvdcamusb.exe file on the CD/DVD and right click on it and select Run as Administrator. The program should now install. If it doesn't then click on the start menu (orb) and type in the search box uac. It will say search and you should then see at the top Change user account control settings. Click on that and it will take you to a window with a vertical slide bar.
Slide the selector to the very bottom and click OK or apply, You may get a warning message about security just ignor that and restart your computer and install the program and drivers.

If you have any issues about the previous security message just repeat the steps and turn uac on.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Hi!

As for MOST cameras/camcorders today, no special drivers are needed. Windows native drivers will do the job.

I guess what you're looking for is a video editing software.
If that's so, please specify the name of the actual software you need, or maybe I could recommend on some good replacements, that will meet your requirements...

Waiting for your reply,
Pelu.

I lost my DVD Movie Album SE install CD, so I tried to find a free download online, but to no avail. I can't use my Hitachi camera without it. I also searched all over the internet to purchase the DVD-Movie Album SE software, and ended up with my credit card being charged to a porn site, so DONT believe the places that say they have the software available for download. Its a SCAM!

I finally got ahold of Hitachi through thier website, and they sent me the names of reputable Hitachi dealers, so I ended up buying it from them. Here is a copy of the email they sent, with a list of dealers. I highly recommend going this route. It is costly, I think about $19.95 plus shipping. Here is the email Hitachi sent me:
