Can't get the ink cartridge out of my Epsonstylus C40UX
Refer to your printer manual, or the online manual at:
http://support.epson-europe.com/onlineguides/en/sc40/index.htmSelect "How To", "Replacing Ink Cartridges","Replacing An Ink Cartridge", then "Using the Printer's control panel". Ignore the blurb about lights etc, and proceed from "To replace an ink cartridge using the
maintenance button ....".
There is also the "generic" approach. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head starts to move, pull the power lead out of the printer, or turn it off at the mains. The print head should now be free to move (gently!) by hand to the cartridge change position. The snag here is there is no inherent means of running an ink charge cycle - do a couple of head clean cycles instead.
'Y" cartridge is not recognized
sometimes cartridges just go bad. when installing, make sure you don't touch the electrical parts on the bottom edge that goes into printer. it can short them out. try a new yellow cartridge.
Ink tank
Greetings,
Install the Print Head and Ink Tanks
Instructions to install the print head and ink tanks.
- Confirm that the printer is powered on and press the <Open> button. (The paper output tray will open.)
- Lift the scanning unit (printer cover) completely. (The print head will move to the replacement position.)
Note:
When the scanning unit (printer cover) is opened more than ten minutes,
the print head moves to the right side. If this occurs, close the
scanning unit (printer cover), and open it again.
- Open the inner cover.
Follow the instructions below for Installing the Print Head and Installing the Ink Tanks.
Installing the Print Head
- Raise the print head lock lever.
- Pull out the print head from its package, then remove the orange protective cap from it.
Caution:
Do not touch the print head nozzles <1> , electrical contacts
<2>, or ink supply ports <3>. Doing so may cause printing
problems.
- Place the print head in the print head holder and lower the print head lock lever carefully until you hear a click.
Installing the Ink Tanks
- Unpack the ink tank and pull the orange tape off completely in the direction of the arrow and remove the film.
Note: Tear the orange tape carefully along the dotted line. If the orange tape remains, printing problems may occur.
<4> Tape is completely removed.
<5> Tape remains.
- Remove the orange protective cap located on the bottom of the ink tank by twisting as shown in the diagram.
Caution:
Do not touch the ink tank contact <6>. Doing so may cause
printing problems. Do not squeeze the side of ink tanks as this may
cause the ink to leak out. Do not reattach the protective cap once you
have removed it.
-
Insert ink tanks into the print head.
Note: Press the mark <PUSH> on the ink tank firmly until you hear a click.
-
Ensure that all the ink tanks are installed properly and the ink tank lamps light red.
<7> The ink tanks are installed properly.
<8> The ink tanks are not installed properly.
Note: Click for Ink Tank Lamp indications.
-
Close the inner cover and the scanning unit (printer cover).
Caution: When closing the scanning unit (printer cover), be careful not to jam fingers.
Note: The next printing begins, the print head cleaning will begin automatically.
Ink Tank Lamp indications
You can check the status of each ink tank according to the way its lamp flashes.
- On: The printer is ready to print.
- Slow flashing (at about three second interval): Ink is low. Prepare a new ink tank.
- Fast flashing (at about one second interval): Ink tank is empty, or the printer is not ready due to an error.
- Off: An error has occurred and the printer is not ready to print.

Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
Error code 6A00
Error Code 6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. You cannot fix it by yourself because you do not have the tools to fix the printer.
You go to a Canons Support Page and ask for a replacement if it is still under warranty or you replace the printer with a new one.
Someone unplugged my computer
You can turn the printer online by going to "printer and faxes" in control panel and right clicking the printer and setting it as online.
If you cannot set it as online, it means that the printer is not plugged in into the computer.
Need assistance in setting up MP 830

I have a Cannon MP830

From reading the Specifications of this product, I do not think this printer is a wireless printer if you are asking.
And yes it can be printed from your laptop, but only from a usb cord and not wirelessly.

We found our manual.
Print head
That is a strange message unless you have changed the print head recently (or it has become defective). The first thing I would do is try reseating the print head.
Unplug the printer.
1) Remove the 5 ink cartridges.
2) Lift the lever that is just to the left of where the ink cartridges sit. This is the print head lock level.
3) The print head is located under the ink cartridges (if they were still there) lift it out carefully.
4) Inspect for damage but do not touch anything or it can cause problems.
5) Carefully replace print head and lower level until it clicks
6) Replace ink cartridges
Plug in the printer and test.
If you still have a problem -
Call 1 (800) 828-4040 for warranty part replacement or to order a part out of warranty.
Dead Printer
hi i am a certified Canon repair tech for this printer. these machines are prone to power faluire due to power surges. this machine uses very low DC voltages so when you have even a small AC power surge the eletrictronics in this printer get over charged and they blow. most of the Canon machines that i have seen with no power have been the main logic board at fault not the power supply. if the machines are under 13 months old they are still covered under warrenty. you can call Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON and they will locate a repair center near you. hope this helps.

Changed the large black ink
Apparently because of using "generic" ink cartridges and not the over priced Canon the printer will not "recognize" the ink levels or monitor but it prints just fine.
My Canon MP830 suddenly refuses
drivers...can really get corrupted for no reason, or a good reason(power glitches)..so..reload the drivers/print management software, remove the printer from the panel, unplug it from the computer, then reverse that. Should 'see' it, and you may be back in business soon.
