This is an error indicating a problem with the Logic Board Assembly. It's probably not worth fixing, with printer prices being fairly low.\

According to the MP800 Service Manual:

2-2. Service Call Errors (by Cyclic Blinking in Orange (Alarm LED) and Green (COPY button), or
Alarm LED Lit in Orange)

Service call errors are indicated by the number of cycles the Alarm LED and COPY button blink, and the corresponding error
code is displayed on the LCD.

*Cycles of blinking in orange (Alarm LED) and green (COPY button) - 20 times

*Other hardware error - Error

*Error Code - [6500]

*Conditions - The PCI bus error is detected by the ASIC.

*Solution (Replacement of listed parts, which are likely to be faulty) - Logic board ***'y

Regarding your Pixma MP830 printer inquiry (Canon PGI-5 / CLI-8 ink cartridges) and A200 error message, most likely the built-in PRINTHEAD is reaching it's end-of-life and may need to be replaced with a new one. Typically, the average printhead only produces ~4000 to 5000 pages before it electrically fails. For information on PRINTHEAD failures, please refer to our support page: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=2934 However, let's run thru the full checklist to screen out additional variables: Canon A200 Error, Troubleshooting: Replace ink cartridges if they are empty: At the risk of stating the obvious (frequently not so obvious in the heat of the moment), find out if the ink cartridges are empty. When in doubt, try a new Canon original ink cartridge to see if this corrects the error. A data cable of print head is open: Did you just replace an ink cartridge? Perhaps you shifted a data cable to the print head. Replace PRINTHEAD if it is damaged. Refer to Canon.com for replacement part. Turn off the printer for some time In other troubleshooting tips we have advised any inkjet printer not seeing regular usage to run a test print page. If you are making heavy usage of a Canon inkjet printer, consider giving it a break. This will avoid saturating the printhead with heat, prolonging useful service life. Update the printer driver: If you have followed all this with no success, from the printer menu (not computer) push the buttons to get a demo or test page. If everything is ok when you do this, however you get the service error code A200 when you try to produce something productive, odds are good, the print driver the computer is using has gone south (corrupt). When printing on a network, a corrupt printer driver can spread like an unwanted virus. Depending on the network, a driver that has gone rogue may be seen as an updated driver, which network will 'helpfully spread' as an update. CAUTION: Be advised, the use of compatible/clone cartridges (i.e. sold thru the internet from China) are known to be problematic and may cause printer errors and/or permanent PRINTHEAD failures. We do NOT suggest refilling these types of ink cartridges.....refilling of original/genuine ink cartridges is only suggested! Good Day Atzkie!

The error 5B00 in Canon MX328 is a waste ink tank full. The printer detected the number of times that the cartridge has been refilled and counted the volume of the waste ink that flows out from the cartridge to the absorber pads.

You can clear the error on the printer using a MP reset tool. This tool will reset the counter for the waste ink tank.

First of all you will need to download this MP328 tool and run it on your system.
To download, go to http://www.ziddu.com/download/15321203/MP328.exe.html.
Click the download button, then, enter the verification code before hitting another download button.
Click the save button to start downloading.

This is the procedure:

Connect first your printer directly to your computer via usb cable.
1. Make sure the printer is recognized by your computer.
2. Make sure that printer is set as default printer.

Set your printer in to Service Mode
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Press and hold down STOP/RESET button (red circle with inverted triangle)
3. While holding down STOP/RESET button, press and hold down ON button (power on button)
4. Release the STOP/RESET button while holding still the ON button.
5. While holding down ON button, press twice the STOP/RESET button
6. Release the ON button.
(On LCD control panel it will display Service Mode. Wait for a few seconds to display "IDLE" - that is the time when printer is set to Service Mode)

After setting the printer into service mode, run the MP328 tool.

Run MP328 Tool
1. From your download folder. Double click the MP328.exe to display the Service Tool window.
2. Once Service Tool window appear, press the MAIN button.
(It will take sometime to finish the transaction. You will see that the "IDLE" message disappear during the process. You will hear sounds from a series of movement inside the printer. Once finished, it will display "A function was finished") Click the button

3. Press the EEPROM Clear button
(It will take only a few seconds to finished the process)

3. Lastly, press the EEPROM button
(It will take only a few seconds to finished the process)

After the procedure has finished, close the service tool window and restart your printer.
On your printer, it will ask you to set the language and country for final setup.

That's it Atzkie, that will fix your 5B00 problem.

First of all do not plug your printer into a power bar. Make sure all packing tape is removed and there are no jams.Check your power cable to ensure it is plugged in and it is not damaged be sure there are no cracks or splits. If the power adapter is heating up while the printer is off. you may just need a new power adapter.

Some printers retain memory of last programe and you may have to cancel this out before you can move on ,check your troubleshootpage in your manual if you have one to do this, or you may have togo to default/factory settings and activate. If that dosn't work ,disconectfrom mains supply and leave for about 15 minuets to let it reset and try again..?goodluck...T.C.

Blocked print head nozzles Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles. Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles. After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. Also try - A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.
