Hi. you need to enter in service mode
with the machine turned on, in the control panel do the next key secuence:
press adittional function
press 2
press 8
press again adittional function.
service mode should appear in the screen: (#SSW)
tap in the arrow ? or ? and search for CLEAR
press OK once, with arrows search for ENGINE and press Ok once, with arrows search for ERRCLR and press OK once more.
turn off the machine from the main switch for about a minute and restart it. try to make some copies, if problem persist there is a malfunction in the fixing unit, get technical support.

The paper feed tray may be blocked. Something is covering the tray such as a large document.

If this happens, remove anything blocking or covering the tray. Turn the printer OFF, the ON and restart your print job.
*Hold large documents away from the tray while printing.

Solution 1: Replace the Waste Ink Absorber
Step 1: Press the Power Button
* With the Canon Printer Powered off but connected to a power source. Press the "Power" button while pressing and holding the "stop/reset" button.
Step 2: Press the Stop/Reset Button
*When the Power is lit, press the "Stop/Reset" button two times
*While pressing and holding the "Power" button
Step 3: Move Into a Service Mode
*When releasing the "Power" button and the "Stop/Reset" button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (waiting for menu selection)
Step 4: Press "Stop/Reset" Button
*When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.
(Each time the "stop/reset" button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange)
Note: Make sure there is need to press 4 times for waste ink counter reset

Step 5: Turn on Canon Printer
Turn off the printer, then turn it on again.

Now Check the Canon printer error code 5800 is resolved. If not, then go to the next solution.

Solution 2: Enter Canon Printer in Service Mode, works best for multifunctional printers.

Step 1: Turn Off Canon Printer
Step 2: Go to Press the Menu Option
Step 3: Put Printer in Service Mode
*To do this you will have to press the "SCAN", "COPY" and "SCAN" buttons in that exact order.
Step 4: Reach to the "Counter Access" option
Step 5: Check amount of pages that you are printed

Step 7: Score all the way to zero
Step 8: Stop once get "Scan Page Count" Option
Step 9: Set Score back to zero
Step 10: Press the "STOP/Reset" button

You can encounter this problem if your printer's Waste Ink Absorber gets full. Of due to some internal glitch present in your system.
Method 1:
Step 1: Choose the "Region" Option
Step 2: Set Options: Hit Set Printer prints One Sheet
Step 3: Set The Printer From One Sheet To Another
Step4: Tap On The "EEPROM" Option
Step 5: Use the Service Tool
Step 6: Perform A "Test" Print

Method 2:
  1. At first, unplug the power cable of the canon printer which you want to reset. In that case, you have to remove all wires and cables including the USB to the PC.
  2. After this process, try to press and hold the Start button and plugin your printer once again.
  3. While holding the " Start" button, tap on the " Resume" button twice.
  4. Now, you have to perform the first and second step once again.
  5. Once done, you have to press and hold the "Resume " button for 4 times. In this case, if you have to notice that, the light will only blink at the first two times.
  6. Once done, try to check whether you become successful to resolve the matter or not.

Unfortunately, the printer is not compatible with Win 7 64. Canon has no plans for development of a Win 7 64 printer driver. Bad news for a lot of users.

1. Perform a Power Cycle

The easiest fix for this error is to perform a power cycle. Doing so will flush out any broken configuration and forces the printer to add a new configuration. Here is how to do it.
  1. Unplug your Printers power cord as well as the USB cable that is connected to your PC.
  2. Keep the printer powered off for at least 3 minutes. After three minutes, plug the power cord and USB cable back and turn it on.
Check for any improvements after the printer restarts. If not, continue the troubleshooting steps.
  1. Power off the printer again.
  2. Open the printer's lid for the scanner. Turn on the printer again keeping the lid open.
  3. Close the lid after the printer restarts. Check for any improvements.

2. Check the Cartridge

Since the error 5011 mostly appears if the printer cartridge is stuck, it is recommended to check for the same.
Turn off your printer and check if a piece of paper or something else is stuck in the printer jamming the cartridge. Even a small object can cause this error. So, analyze the printer thoroughly.

3. Remove and Reinsert the Cartridge

If you haven't tried this already, try to remove and carefully reinsert the cartridge.
You can also try to clean up all the encoder strip found behind the printer. Reinsert the Cartridge after cleaning the encoder and checking for any objects stuck inside the printer.
Turn the printer on and see if the error is resolved. If the issue persists, you may need to take the printer to an authorized service center to get it fixed. Load comments

  • Turn off your Canon printer first
  • Press and hold the STOP/RESET button
  • Press and hold Power ON button
  • While pressing the Power ON button, release the STOP/RESET button
  • Press twice the STOP/RESET button While holding yet the Power-On button
  • Release the Power ON button
  • Wait until it displays an "idle" message. It will take a few seconds
  • When "idle" appear, open the top cover to expose the cartridges
  • Lift up the cover and take out both the black and color cartridges
  • Return the cover of cartridge holder and turn off the printer
  • Return the top cover and turn on the printer again
  • After the printer initialize, return the cartridges
