Reset waste ink counter

To reset waste ink counter at printers canon pixma MP150, MP160, MP170, MP180, MP450 and MP460 there any 2 choice, that is :

Start with printer on then run this software
Click Reset Main (main) to reset waste ink counter and then click Reset Platen button (additional)

Or

When you insert a refilled ink cartridge into your Pixma MP500 printer you should get a warning about the refilled cartridge. You should also be prompted, asking if you wish to disable ink level detecting. Agree to do so, and you won't get the warnings again because the ink levels won't be monitored by the printer.

Try switching both your printer and computer off for few minutes and see if the error comes up again. If that doesn't work, try unplugging the printer from power point for couple of hours. good luck!

if it will still print I have no idea but if not it probably means there is something wrong with your black cartridge - a lot of these printers need both cartridges working before they will even scan

Procedure to reset Printer canon MP145, MP150 and Canon MP160 with Error Code Message for Printer Canon MP145 and Canon MP160, you can find error code message the end of this post:
1) With the printer powered off but connected to a power source, press the Power button while pressing and holding the Stop/ Reset button.
2) When the Power is lit, press the Stop/Reset button two times while pressing and holding the Power button.
3) When releasing the Power button and the Stop / Reset button (regardless of order), the printer will move into a service mode. (Waiting for menu selection)
4) When the on/off lights in green, press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of time(s) according to the function listed in the table below.(Each time the Stop/Reset button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in orange and green, starting with orange.)note: press 4 times for waste ink counter reset.

If E5 is the error you will have to replace the cartridges.

Sounds like the ink absorber might be full

when i get copy or print the appear on disply error #2 pls helpe me 2 find solution. error service 5100. For my mp 160 printer
