My printer disc is lost.

The downloaded driver should work exactly like the CD version, except it is more current. With the Printer DISCONNECTED, start the driver install, and when prompted, connect the printer, once the install completes, the printer should work.
If not follow the steps here to completely remove old drivers and settings before again running the install.

How to get a ibm

Normal 0

The same model ThinkPad can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.

When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive.

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: -

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

Can't get y wireless device

It is not you, it is the router. Are you in a public wireless hot spot or using your own? If the first, contact the person who is in charge to make sure it is not filtering MAC address and not password needed. Then disconnect it and reconnect, sometimes the connection is cached for some previous connected ones and shows automatically connected but actually not working.

What is the default password for my R51 Thinkpad

Hello

I am assuming you cannot log into Windows because you do not know your login password. (Passwords can be put on the BIOS but IBM/Levono does not put one on the BIOS by default).

The easiest way to reset the default Administrator password is to create a Password Recovery disk, boot the laptop up using this disk, choose the login account that you want to reset the password for and then reset that password.

(This will NOT work for computer accounts that are on a Microsoft Active Directory Domain - you must contact the Domain Administrator to reset your password.)

I recommend using the "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor". This creates a bootable CD that you use to boot your laptop. It has automated menus to get you to the User accounts. Select the User account you want to change and then apply the changes. Remove the CD and reboot - use the new password and you should be good to go.

You may need to run the utility more than once - also, you will probably need to UNLOCK the User account.

Spilled milk on thinkpad keypad. Now no power at

Pull the power, remove the battery and turn it upside down over a towel or some paper towels. So the keyboard should be facing down into the towels. Do not try and turn it on until it dries. If you're technically savy I would recommend disassembling it and attempting to clean up whatever milk you can see.. then letting it dry. But to be honest it doesn't look good. -Ravi Shanghavi
