The D drive will not

Hi

Did you press the F12 tab a few times as your thinkpad was starting up

i think this is the key to press so that you can choose what the thinkpad will start up with so choose the d drive and then hopefully it will work

The cpu fan has quit working, looking for

The CPU fan is located under the keyboard. To remove the keyboard there are 4 screws on the bottom of the laptop. The screws holding the keyboard in place have a small keyboard symbol next to each of these screws. When you remove the screws you can then lift off the keyboard, take not to damage the ribbon cable and keyboard connector.
The heat-sink and fan is fixed to the CPU with 4 screws, after removing these screws you can remove the fan and heat-sink. It may take a bit of juggling to clear the case. Take care to unlug the fan power cable/connector.
When you replace the fan, don't forger to put new heat-sink compound on the CPU and fan.

The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista devicedrivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true You can download thevarious drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, theywill then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install thevarious drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

I coudn't found my wirless

There is no hardware switch wireless. Just hold Fn and press F5. It would brings up a menu that allows you to turn Bluetooth on/off, WiFi on/off or both.

How to unlock an IBM

Power off the computer
Remove the memory cover on the bottom side of the computer.
Short-circuit the two password pads or put a jumper on the contacts to short the circuit.
Under the short-circuit condition, power on the computer and wait until the POST ends. After the POST ends, the password prompt does not appear. The power-on password is removed.
Reinstall the memory cover.
