My dryer does not shut off and doesn't get hot. It takes almost 5 hours to dry a load of clothing.

Sorry to say but it sounds like the heating element is on its way out... Happened to ours and repair was more than a new dryer so we brought a new one

Smell after drying

Try drying your clothes without the dryer sheet and see if the smell is still there. If it is not, then the problem is the dryer sheet.
If it is, then you need to describe the smell better. Different people handle smells differently. What smells musty to you may smell fragrant to others.
You need to determine if the smell you don't like is really a musty smell, or is it a fragrance you don't like. Have some friends (not family members) smell the clothes and verify if what you are smelling is musty or fragrant.

It could also be that even though the clothes smell OK out of the washer, that the detergent you are using is the cause.

Maytag atlantis MDE6400AY timer works but dryer doesn't come on

First thin I would try is to check your thermal fuse for continuity with a ohm meter with the wires removed from the fuse and the dryer unplugged. Its located on the tunnel that in cases the heating element. Here is the part in case you find it bad.

I have a Kenmore Elite older model dryer that will fire the burner up when started, but when the burner shuts down and then tries to cycle on again, the glow igniter starts but no gas is released and

most likely its gonna be your coil kit, but it could also be ur gas valve, but the gas valve is not common. I would go with the silinoid coil kit first, its much cheaper too

Squeeks when running

Hi ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.Sounds like your problem may be the belt may have slipped off of the motor pulley, or idler arm pulley, faulty capacitor, or a faulty motor.Note: This method works for most front loading machines. If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place, some seals are furnished with the cement to glue it in place.Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer if necessary. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections. Remove the lint filter and the two screws that hold the filter housing to the top of the dryer lid. Then remove the top of the dryer by inserting a screwdriver between the top and frame on each side of the dryer to pop the lid up from the retaining clips.Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards on a type of hinge and do not have to be removed completly.Remove the front of the machine by disconnecting the door switch and removing the two screws located on either side of the dryer frame.Move the door and front of machine forward to remove. This will expose the belt, idler bracket and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.Note:The way the belt goes back on is, as the belt comes off the drum has to be doubled (pushed together to form a loop) and goes under the idler pulley then to the motor pulley. Here is a link to see a picture of your belt routing in case the belt is broken when you open your dryer:http://www.expertappliance.com/dryerbeltconfiguration.html While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you remove and lubricate the drum rollers. And also clean the shafts of the rollers as they will collect hair, dust, etc and cause problems and then lubricate the shafts and rollers with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil or a vasoline type of lubricant. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting dry and making a squeeling/squeeking noise, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them. Please take time to rate me

Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AYW timer has been replaced

The wire connections to the timer may have not been made correctly when it was replaced bypassing the OFF contact in the control circuit.  There should be a wiring diagram inside the front or back panel that you can check.

Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AY Dryer pull knob not engaging dryer, changed it, still doesn't work. Please help! : )

If it won't run at all that probably is due so some sort of lint build up. To get into this dryer you remove the door first and since it is reversible you remove 2 screws on the opposite side as well and then the goalpost shaped front can pop off there. Then you remove the 2 things that hold down the top to the frame. Then you can remove the shrould. Then you can get the drum out. On the blower housing is a round fuse most likely it is blown. Their is another one just like it also near the blower. Check it as well. Clean her up and look for a loose blower wheel. That can cause the fuse to blow also. Now HERE IS YOUR SERVICE MANUAL. When did you say them cookies was gonna be ready? LOL If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/dan_73bbd84fe1d95b61

Maytag Atlantis MDE6200AYW will run, but no heat

Check to make sure that you have the proper voltage running to the dryer first. Next you may have a problem with your heating element or with your thermal fuse. Get your dryer opened up so you can see your heating element. Run the dryer and if you see the heating element come on and then turn right back off again then you have a bad thermal fuse. If it doesn't come on at all though then the heating element is bad. Both parts can be picked up at your local appliance repair shop. Just make sure to unplug the dryer before replacing the part. If you have any other questions let me know and let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck.
