What is purpose of pull lever on top right of decorative panel

It's an air intake vent damper. If you push it in, the unit won't pull any air from outside, instead it'll recirculate air from the room. If you pull it outward, it allows the unit to pull air from outside. During the day when it's hot outside, the lever should be pushed into the closed position to allow for more efficient cooling. At night, if you want to exchange air from outside when it's cool enough, pull out the lever to allow that to happen. The unit will exhaust hot air no matter if this switch is in or out.

What is the btu of

Hi, to find out the tonnage of your unit in b. t. u.'s, look at the 08 in your model number. There are 12,000 btu's per ton of cooling. You have a window /wall unit, and according to the model # 08 is not a 1/2 ton or a 1 ton, but a 3/4 ton unit or 8,000 btu's if indeed this is the correct model number. Most units we come across are in btus as 06 which is 1/2 ton, 12,000 is 1 ton, 018 is 1 1/2 ton and on up with a properly matched indoor coil. Your unit is a package window unit, so both coils are equal.

How to clean dirt that

Both the evaporator and condenser coils (inside and outside) can be safely cleaned with products specifically made for the job. Clean evaporator and condenser coils mean more efficient cooling - which means lower operating costs. Cleaning the coils can remove stale or other less desirable odors that originate from your air conditioner. An example is made by Thermwell which is available at Lowes and other hardware and home improvement stores. There are many different manufacturers of the cleaners - so if this particular brand isn't available at the store you shop, another will do. Different brands and types have different methods - so you should read and follow the directions on the can. Many of the canned foaming / spray type cleaners are "rinse free" - meaning it is not required to rinse the foam off - as running the unit will allow the condensation that forms of the coils to do the rinsing for you. It should be noted that window / thru the wall types and other non-central air conditioning units should be tilted so that the condensation and chemicals drain outside - not into the house. If your AC hasn't been dripping water inside, it should be fine. Usually all that is needed is to remove the front grill and filter to access the coil. With the unit off (preferably unplugged) spray the foaming cleaner into the coil and let it sit to work on the dirt, grime, mold, nicotine, etc. that has collected on the coil. When the last step of the can's printed directions are complete - the job is done. You can find some helpful videos on Youtube to show how the cleaning is done on the larger, central air type units.

Please rate this reply if it was helpful to you - good luck!

I want to put my A C unit on a timer. If the unit

Without modifying the main control board on an electronic control unit, this can not be done externally. It can be done internally but the expense to do the modifications would be as much as the unit cost to begin with. All of the work would have to done on the main board. The timer would have to initiate a 3.3V pulse to the main power on relay and bypass the remote functions.

Energy Saver setting

Could not find a manual, but that setting is the setting that you choose to leave on and let the air conditioner decide the most effecient way to run during the day. There are too many ways to approach that answer in a small conversation. There are many things to consider and I will leave you with a link to a PDF that explains better of what I am writing. Taking off cover to clear coils????

Not sure what model you have but most slide out of their cabinet after removing the front plastic grill that holds vents. Front should snap loose, but be sure no screws hold front in place. As always use care and unplug while working on your unit. Take care not to wet electric controls or motor windings. Thanks
