The problem might be in the compressor or fan motor. The compressor pulls a lot of amps, and much more if it's jammed or binding. The fan motor will do the same.

no belt. should be a direct drive motor. most likely bearings in motor going out. you will have to replace motor at some point it will lock up. if it has oil ports you can try oiling to prolong but will eventually stop working.

When you say safely, do you mean operating it with the required doors and windows open? You can run it 24/7 as long as it is operating according to the owner manual.

low on refrigerant is the probable cause

Check to see if your getting the proper voltage to medium and low speed at the switch, if you are then the switch is good and you have an open winding in the motor and it needs replaced to correct the problem, if not then you need to replace the switch.

This sounds like the control board has malfunctioned. You might have to have it replaced. When you have it on, does the unit switch off at 75o or does it continue to run? Also check the temp of the air leaving the unit, it needs to be below 55o's.

Absolutely! WD-40 is NOT a lubricant. I've been using Hoppes gun oil, but 3-in-1 oil will work, and you might find oil labeled for use on electric motors at an appliance parts seller.

lol not good , these unit are not meant tobe repaired make sure the outlet is not 220 check breaker or try other outlet.

a leaking starting capacitor could cause this, but you got it, dont do nothing, the waranty could be void by you, claim it ...good luck
