I just ran across something similar in Access--it turned out to be an issue with the VB library references. If you have a visual basic editor in your program, see if you can find its references and see if any are missing.

The Burn & Go X software installation requires a preliminary installation of Microsoft Framework 1.1. I suspect this was not done and the software is trying to make use of later frameworks with which it is only partially compatible. The software is no longer in production. Indeed, it has been replaced.

A kind of virus cause this problem. install an updated version antivirus.

You can also try these two other options (may or may not help).

1) Try Running the install as Administrator

2) If it is older software, try running/installing the software in in XP Compatibility Mode

Type xp compatibility in the search window

There are instructions on how run the install using compatibility mode.

The files are in a format - .mc2 or .mx2 - and place that the program can't find.
If the file extension is *.mc2 , you add the cookbooks by using Windows Explorer to move or copy them to an MasterCook collection folder on your hard drive. Then open MasterCook and press F5 or Tools>Refresh file list for the cookbooks to be displayed in your cookbook browser. If you just double-click a mc2 file, MasterCook will open the cookbook and register its location so that must be avoided.
For the "MasterCook Export" files (these will have the .mx2 extensions), you should open MasterCook and then choose "Import" and direct MasterCook to those files. Do this with the target cookbook highlighted or open, and MasterCook will place them there.
By the way the 5 version is designed strictly for XP so there is a very high probability to fail if you try to run it in 7. For 7 you must buy and install the last version

Try re-downloading the software (it should be free to re-download since you have already paid for it). Try to get clip art again. when it says insert disk, it should show a browse button where you can map to the file you just downloaded. if that doesn't work, run the installation file and do a custom install. You should be able to install the clip art through there.

If you have a 64bit OS installed and there is o software that doesn't run on it you can always use a software to create a virtual 32bit OS. I recommend VirtualBox because it's free but you can try others too. Here is a list of virtual machine software:

There are many possibilities. I could list them down in this way:

and many more.
First try repairing the program using the original CD or the Installer file so that it'd repair all the missing or corrupt files of the installed program.

Scan the system with few antivirus, like, avira, avg, avast, etc.. and try again (Note: not only one antivirus is enough, but don't ever install multiple antiviruses, it could bring system instability, if one of them is to be installed then, you have to first remove/uninstall the existing..)..
