WER IS JUMPER ON BOARD???
Most of the new motherboards have done away with jumpers. All most all parameters are set though the BIOS page. The only jumper will be the BIOS resetting pins near the battery.
I have intel 101 Ggc
There is a chance that you have faulty RAM module. If computer is stable on POST (until Windows boot-up) I would suggest to use some testing tools to test that RAM with your motherboard. There is a good program called MemTest. You can find it online if you search Hirens Boot CD. Download it, burn image to disk, put 1GB RAM into motherboard, start-up PC and boot from CD. Then you'll search for Memtest program. I would suggest to leave PC for at least 6 hours for testing to find out if it's faulty or not (better to leave for 24 hours).
I have intel D1011GGC pentium4
You can add it in as the main harddrive or you could add it in as a second harddrive. The instructions should come with the harddrive but basically you go into bios and set it up to autodetect it...
However perhaps you'd consider another option. As the machine must be several years old why not get an external harddrive that way if/when you get a new machine you can use it with the new one?
Use it for saving all your photos, music, saved files etc as you wish and keep just xp and basic programs on the 80 gig drive you have now? :)
