You apparently took some pics using the internal memory. Now, to get the camera to use the card again, you must format the internal memory with no memory card in the camera.

My KodakC713 won't format the Kingston memory card

Is the little switch on the card in the locked position? if so move it to the unlocked and try again, Also too large a card, or too old a card, old should work, best try another memory card though.

There are regular SD cards and high-capacity SD cards (HCSD). Some devices are not compatible with HCSD cards. It sounds like your camera is not compatible. You may still be able to purchase 2G & 4G regular format SD cards that will work fine.

I hope that helps.

How do i get my camera to accept the memory card.

If your using a camera that is older with a newer card over 2 GB you cannot use the FAT file system on the card. 2 GB is about your limit if this is the case. If your camera has the SDHC logo on it you can use a card larger then 2 GB, otherwise not. If this is where your problem is consider purchasing a smaller card. to check if your card is in FAT or NTFS you can insert it in the computer " granted your computer can read SDHC " right click on the card and check the properties. If your camera only says SD on the logo then you may have issues using a card over 2 GB. If this is not the case you might actually have a bad card, try a FAT formatt in the computer and if that fails you might need to purchase a card without defects, though defective cards are extreamely rare.

C315 kodak camera will not format memory card

Just remove the card from your camera. Then make sure you already back up or copy the content on the safe place, i.e your HDD computer and burn to DVD. Then using card reader plug it to your computer and format it using computer. After that plug back to camera and then re-format using camera's menu. The first way is trying to delete/format tyour card that might corrupt. Then the second format is trying to create necessary folder for your camera to use

Need to know what memory card can i purchase and

I had a look and it seems 1GB is about the Maximum? yes Sandisk is a good brand. Frankly anything that works well is OK.
Buy a good brand of card ... SanDisk is my favorite.
Kodak would certainly be a good choice too.
Don't buy it on eBay, as there are too many counterfeit cards available on eBay.

A Tip:
If you use a card reader, you will need a SDHC card reader if you use a SDHC card.
Most older card readers can not read a SDHC card.

Tip number 2:
Always format a new card with the Camera before taking any pictures.
You will find how to format with the camera in the camera User Manual.
