too often i have to download a driver for my printer because my pc runs on vista and my printer is a lexmark, it runs god for a couple of months and then it stops communicating with my pc.

buy a new printer

go to printer properties in the control panel and click on latest driver

Please make sure the print head is seating properly as it should. Another reason could be the contacts of the print head are not connecting properly with the main printer due to dirt. Remove the print head, clean the contacts of the print head and where it seats at the printer. hope this will help
