Seems the battery in the remote is shot. Could even be a lose wire inside of it as well. May need to replace remote or dare ti take it apart and see if all wires are hooked up properly

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality. This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. battery could be bad but you can try cleaning contacts on battery and where battery contacts inside of remote also contacts on bottom of remote where it connects with cradle and on cradle as well. good way to clean is rub gently with pencil eraser.

reset the code download from www.fitness.manualsonline.com or www.remotecodelist.comopen the remote control. clean the keypads switch, for dirty, oxide, bad contacts switch, or open use the VOM, see the block diagram, if these switch are NOT o.k they will not send infrared signal to the microcontroller from the receiver.If this doesnot resolve the problem go to the repair shop TV for fix it.God bless you

I had this problem.....Mine was stuck on the charge icon and wouldn't change no matter what I did. Solution: Plug into the computer and run the software you got with it...It will re-set it and it should be good as new. not sure what causes it, but mine has been fine since and it was months ago that I fixed it.Good Luck,B

Not worth repairing, contact harmony and they will give you a coupon for 50% off a new remote. The 900 replaced the 890, although I prefer the 890 the screen is a lot better on the 900.

HelloReplace the batteries with new ones and check. If this also does not help you, make sure that the display driver IC, attached with LCD display panel has damged. You have to replace the LCD panel and display IC as a module. OK.

Hi. It sounds like some of the IR commands on your remote (menu, exit, guide, info, play, skip, etc.) for your TV and DVD player are not correct. Luckily, the Harmony remote is a Learning remote, meaning you can use your original TV or DVD player remote to teach the Harmony remote the correct commands. This may be an issue with the button itself getting caught on the plastic bezel of the remote. Sometimes this happens when the remote is dropped or the plastic bezel is nicked.
My recommendation is to reprogram the device you are trying to control the volume of. This issue may occur when the incorrect IR code is programmed into the remote. Some IR codes may work intermittently and as rolling codes. Check the program and respond if problems persist.

Hi. Try learning the power commands for your Vizio TV from the original remote. The power commands that the Harmony remote is using may not be correct. The following tutorial by Logitech will assist you with this.

Hi. To resolve the repeating command issue, you need to decrease the repeat setting for the device in the Harmony software. The following article by Logitech will assist you with doing this:

I have had that appear also. I have found I can fix a lot of problems by removing the battery wait a couple of minutes then re-install. Try that it worked for me.

Are you using the RF extender? The IR almost never dies on them but the RF extenders have some problems. Pull the battery and let it reboot, then power cycle the extender.

Unfortunately, the Harmony 890 and 880 chargers have a design flaw that makes the remote slowly become unable to charge. One way that I get around this with my Harmony 880 is to attach an elastic band around the remote when it is in the charger, so that it does not lose contact. You can also purchase one of the new chargers (Logitech redesigned them) for about 10 bucks US. You can order it by calling the Logitech sales line which is 1-800-231-7717.

Hi. This could be an issue with the IR emitters on your remote wearing out, or your U-verse's IR receiver could be faulty. Try controlling the U-verse with the original remote. If the same thing happens with the original remote, then it is the IR receiver (U-verse) that is the problem. If the original remote is able to control the device from the normal distance, then your 890's IR emitters are the problem.


If you find that it is the Harmony remote that is the problem, try doing a firmware update as this often solves issues. To update the firmware on your remote, log in to the Harmony software, click "Downloads" at the top of the screen then click "Firmware."

Is the RF extender working, or is it just the IR out the front of the remote?Try a reboot by pulling the battery and power cycling the extender.
