Battery down but ok with power on MM50.

The battery for the MM50 speaker is VERY hard to find. Logitech does not make a replacement battery for this unit but here is a link to a site that carries it: Replacement NTA2335 Battery for Logitech MM50 iPod SpeakerThe battery has a plastic connector which connects to the board so soldering will not be necessary. You just open up the back and switch it out. Easy Peasy!

Flashing Lights and No Sound

I am 100% sure the battery is dead.
Opening my mm50 I find that the small 2"X 1/4" battery is attached to the back, very near the charging socket. The battery is connected to the circuit board through a small plug-socket arrangement - no soldering here like iPod. So, it would not be difficult to replace it by a DIY enthusiast. But it would be difficult to find this non-standard replacement battery. Better leave the job to Logitech service, they'd would certainly replace it on charge basis.

On the Logitech mm50 Portable Speakers for iPod, the + volume button plastic cover has fallen off. Can I fix it myself?

Glue will not usually work---use something not sharp like a plastic wand to activate the micro switch---as far as the buttons they are usually a one piece part that is either melted in place or screwed--may be a little hard to locate.

My mm50 speakers just stopped

The power supply adapter is most likely the culprit. You can find a 12V Logitech mm50 replacement here: https://www.digidave.co.uk/jshop/product.php?xProd=4762

Mm50 as extension from MacBook

Your Logitech MM50 has an auxiliary input that accepts industry standard 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo cables. The Macbook's headphone out jack with the icon of a small set of headphones is the audio out. You will need a male to male cable which is available from Radio Shack for a few dollars.

Pure-Fi Anywhere Speakers

Well I am not sure where exactly you want them to work but there are a few options that you can concider. First off the sell power inverters that allow you to plug into the cigarette lighter in your car and you are able to plug things into your car that normally only work in the house.. The main point of my answer is that they are powerd speaker that have to be plugged into an outlet to work, my best suggestion to you would be to take them speakers back and buy a set that do not require to be plugged in. If your intention is to use them on a laptop the make speakers that plug in usb and use the small current that runs through the usb cable to power the speakers, but that will cut into your laptop battery life. If you go to a computer store and I am not talking about Best Buy I mean a real computer store they will have knodgeable staff that will be able to show you the best solution to your problem.
I hope this helps.
