The computer would power off for no reason. We
Sounds Like you have bumped your Thermal sensor wire for the CPU loose, Look at the CPU and See if the thermal disk is inserted into the heat sink and the processor chip, If it is not touching the CPU it will power down by default. Also check the fan wires on the CPU make sure it is plugged in tightly also look to see if the fan turns on the CPU cooling fan, if it turns slow or not at all then you have a fan that is worn out for your CPU. Not looking up your model of computer I would do this first. since it is a 400/DDR333 tells me it's an older model. Hope this helps and if you need more help just post a comment to this post. Thanks for using fix-ya.

I have a problem installing windows XP pro. I have
make sure your dvd drive is good as well. The laser can go weak in those. Also make sure your cd is good and has no fingerprints on either side and if its a copy make sure its a good burn of it or else that would give you an error as well.
If you know the cd is in good shape I would try using a can of air and blow some gently into the drive to make sure no specs of dust or dirt are in the way of the laser cause that can cause errors. You can also always use another windows cd as well if you can get one.

SATA PORT NOT WORKING
The universally accepted HDD is the IDE, why are you trying to make it with a SATA? With a IDE you will avoid all the troubles. Yes! SATArequires a change in the BIOS. We can help you do the change, if you know how to do it. Playing with BIOS can cause the entire MB to burn out and destroy itself.

Here's my problem. I'm using an MSI mobo MS-7061
Hy there,
Here are some hints for you:
1, do a bios clear, there could be something setup incorrectly.
2, try to start setup with only 1 module of ram, no matter how small it is a 256mb is barly enough for windows setup.
3, Check your cooler if it perfoms correctly , on cooling amd is sensitive on overheating in the series of socket 462.
4, Check your hard drive for bad sectors or damages , yes a new one can contain some.
5, Replace your Optical drive.
If all thease are corect it could be a problem with the motherboard or the processor.
Good luck . :D
