You do are perfectly right when you ask how it worked before if the freon is lo w...but it is a pertinent question ..when some say all parts seam to work .It just can not be something else...but I would lean to think that it may be something with the power and the way the fan was linked back ...cause if it didnt put it back at its place ..and hooked it on another power source he found available ..it might be made a shortage or something and now the compressor do not work at the max capacity ...Anyway ..check the coil again not to be frozen ...and defrost it ...and after that pay attention on the temperatures set ..and even lower them to see if you achieve a decent temperature even if it is not the one set ..(I mean set it lower and hope to get the one desired..) this way you will see the unit is capable of working ...and the things you have to check are the fan wiring and the thermostat ..(the rewiring of the fan could cause some malfunctions on the thermostat ..(I suspect he found the fan not working ..but wired proper...and when checked on direct power it worked..and he linked it where he found power ..and now it messes around with either the compressor's full capacity ..or with the thermostat )

HI.Did the tech cleaned the compressor filter? and is there a freon or refrigerant on your fridge that'S usually cooling element of an ordinary fridge.

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects theb you need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.

You probably have a clogged defrost drain. Look way inside at the very bottom and back of the freezer and you should be able to get to it to clean it out.Also I would pull the refrig out from the wall and see if you can get to part of it from there. Hope this helped.

is everything running fine except for the blocked drain?just melting out the ice isn't good enough,you have to clear the block in the drain.i use a steemer to blow out the drain but if you don't have one you can try a turkey baster to blow through the drain,when you think the drain is clear get hot water and pour it into the hole,if it drains down the hole then you know it's clear.heat it up with the hair dryer,then stick the baster into the hole with some hot water in it and squeeze the top to push the water through the hole,then check it by pouring hot water down the drain hole,if it drains down the hole you're done.now if the fridge is warm and freezer is getting warm too then you also have a defrost problem,bad defrost thermostat,heater, or timer.if you pull off the back inside wall of the freezer again but first open the fridge door,up in the top panel where the controls are and on the right side you'll see a hole,the defrost timer is there,if you turn it with a screw driver slowly,you'll hear the evap fan shut off and by doing this you manually advanced it into defrost,now when you look at the evap. coil there's a heater,you have a calrod heater in your machine,it's a black rod that heats up and melts the ice off of the coil when in defrost,if that doesn't heat up you need to replace it,that also comes with the thermostat connected to it part number 61006116 and it's around 50 dollars.but this is only if your machine isn't staying cold enough and you have to keep melting the ice off of the coil by hand,if not then all you have to do is clear the drain.hope this helps you out,sorry for your loss,hang in there hopefully things will get better for you.

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running.If no check starter/overload relay. The relay is a small usually black cube shaped electrical part plugged into the compressor or wired to it nearby. It may appear burnt or rattle when shaken if it's bad. The two connections should show continuity with an amp meter. If it's good then it's most likely the compressor causing the problem.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm




Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).
If it's iced up really heavy you have an auto defrost problem. Melt the ice with a hairdryer and check the defrost system.

its a model not made anymore but most weigh between 200 and 450. the more gadgets, the more it weighs. It is a side by side so id guess around 250-275, youll need a couple hands

Hello,
Check to be sure the frig is sitting level. You should have leveling adjustment on each side below the doors and behind the grille. Also, on the bottom door hinge (usually fridge side) should be an adjustment to raise or lower the door to align the doors. After that if you simply have a deformed seal you can try carefully heating the seal with a hair dryer to soften it and should smooth out the wrinkles. Be careful not to over heat the seal. check the white box on the side of the compressor if you shake it and it sounds like glas is inside its bad. You will need a volt meter to make further tests,let me know,

If the compressor is not coming on check the relay switch on the side of the compressor.To check you have to remove the switch and shake it. If it rattles it needs to be replaced.

frezer not getting cold enough try cleaning lint buildup on the condesor coils under fridge if clean cheak to make sure compressor is running. if not cheak the relay switchon side of compressor. remove it and shake it if you here a rattle it needs to be replaced

1. is light on in side when you open the door. If not check breakers or fuses.
2. Can you hear the compressor running. If not do you hear any clicking sounds.
3. If you hear clicking sounds, try putting a fan on compressor and unplug refrigerator.
4. Wait one hour.
5. plug back in. If compressor starts let it run and see if it cools, if it doesnt, call service man.
6. If it goes back to clicking, call a service man.
