Freezes

Leave it unplugged for 24 hours. Sounds like the failsafe for a power surge. This is typical for RCA products. I have a 54 inch rear projection TV that will only tune 16 channels and none of them are correct when it surges. The solution: 24 hours unplugged. I also have the same type of thing with my RCA DVD recorder... Never had it happen to surround sound, though.

You might have blown an internal fuse. (try oppening it and look if the fuse is blown ;if it is repalce with same Amps)

Why do only 2 speakers play in steroe mode

stereo mode is just that - stereo. Stereo is two speakers, front left and right only. If you want the other speakers to play, select a surround mode.

I have a RCA Home

The dish network reciever should have audio and video out on the back, If its a HD device it should also have COAX out (hd audio) get the cables for audio and feed the into a input on the back of your home theater system, there should be several inputs, usually labled like video 1 video 2, tape deck etc etc. the audio in are red and white or red and black usually, the coax connector is orange, and you only need one cable to hook that up. If you have HD audio on the dish network that will sound best in your home theatere system

Player says its locked and we cant get it to

Go here to get manual.

i scanned the manual, and it does not refer to anything about "LOCKED" on the display.

Try unplugging it and while unplugged change the batteries in the remote. Plug the unit back in. See if it responds.

Then go to the manual and reset to factory settings (page 21 and 22 of the manual).

I hooked it up the way the manual said and it doesnt work

Try whatever applies best below, in order...

Cable Box optical Digital Audio to Digital Audio In. (This brings TV-related multi-channel and normal audio into the receiver so you can hear it over the speakers. Turn TV volume OFF.

The cable box probably has a pair of stereo Audio Out RCA jacks. Run those directly to the TV so you can watch and hear cable programming over the TV's speakers without having to turn the system on. Turn TV volume UP.

Depending on your TV's Video In capabilities, use the Cable Box HDMI, Component (Red, Blue and Green), or Composite Video (single Yellow associated with the Audio Out) directly attached to the TV.

RCA LCD Flat Panel HDTV and RCA Home Theater System--No sound

Video comes from external device to TV - OUT on device and IN on TV.

Sound connects by the red/white cable set (or HDMI). Place set in Audio OUT ports on TV and Audio IN ports on DVD. Then select AUX IN on DVD.

My 15 year old Home theater RCA tv turns pink with

Are you using a component video cable to feed into the TV? If so... your cable may be bad. If you have different video outputs from the home theater system then use one of them such as a yellow composite video or S Video (round with multiple pins) . However, the fact that it's happening after a period of time suggests that something electronic is about to go. If you have another TV in the house to connect the system to then go ahead and do that. If it works fine on another tv then you have a problem with your old tv.
