Ricoh 3500N - Photoconductor Problems
I thought the SC441 error was a "Drum Peripheral Component Motor Lock", have you tried cleaning in and around the drum. Maybe the motor is going bad or there's some kind of obstruction.
Sc 441 error code
Yep Master... That is what the RICOH service manual says. They do not want you to know about their design flaw, or maybe they want to sell more PCU. In any case follow Lariatsd idea. it does work. I tried it already. The manual is only as good as those who write it. GM blew up a lot of deisel (gasoline blocks in the early 80's) engines replacing the injector pumps. but that came down to a small part that regulated back pressure in the fuel system that was a design flaw. Made one that was self cleaning then all was good, but too late for those engines But the manual said replace the injector pump! So they did..... Try it, you are going to toss the PCU anyway.
PCU replacement
Unless they died suddenly without any moaning and groaning from the motor, they can be made to work again. See my COMMENT under my question " We have a 3500N that we can not keep PCU in. Not the answer, the comment. And if you do not want to try it, I will buy them for a couple of bucks. It will work. Just be patient. Waste toner tube is plugged with rock hard toner...... you need to replace the K pcu and if the unit has 60K prints all of the consumables need replacing CMYK drums CMYK Developers and the imaging transfer belt and fuser unit
Error code: color registration error and
have you replaced all of the consumables?
drums X2 black and color
developer units X4 CMYK
transfer imaging belt X1
Fuser unit X1
if the unit has over 60k prints it will need to have these items replaced and once that is done the color registration will come back inline.
How do you clean the head on my cl3500n
the cl3500 is a laser printer and as such doesnt have a head per se.
you can remove the dev units and the k and cmyk pcu's and the image belt and using a flash light and a lint free cloth shine the light upwards and clean the led array, but typically if you have quality issues it will be either or all of the consumables which can be purchased from ricoh direct or from

PCU running out quickly
the best bet would be to order from Katun US if they have the specific toners for your Ricoh printers, as an ex ricoh tech supervisor i recommend using brand toner just because it is manufactured to exacting specifications and will not void any warranties, or as Stated try this link to the Katun catalog

Never clean or touch the Transfer Roller (spongey rooler) unless your using a dry cloth or vaccum as last measure.
Usually the transfer roller sits on a drum/pcu specific to that color. If you can tell which color is sitting on to of the roller replace that drum/pcu.
