Ricoh Caplio RR630 Digital Camera - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What is difference between A & P on selector
A is Aperture priority mode - you set the aperture the camera sets the shutter
P is program shift mode - the camera balances the aperture and shutter, if you raise one the other goes down an equal amount
Auto is same a P except you can't change settings.

Card error
Carefully clean the card contacts.
put a piece of paper around the card and insert it and holding one end of the paper pull the card in and out thus polishing the contact in the camera- take great care here.
Remove paper
Now try

My ricoh caplio 5 tells me there is no card
You did insert a SD card? not a SDHC card. And before you did, you checked if the card was unlocked? (little switch on the left side should be up towards the golden contacts on the back side.

Hi
My Ricoh Caplio R7 camera
I have had the same problem.
Here where I live is a renouned camera repairman.
I took it to him and received the bad news.
He said the "frame" was bent , and it could not be repaired.
It needed to be replaced.
I am really suspicions yours may be also.
We here at "fixya" have no prices or parts for anything.
We are only a consulting group of people.
God bless your efforts.

How do I clean inside a Ricoh rikenon 70mm to 200mm zoom lens.
Unless you have a lens collimator and other equipment to ensure proper alignment when you reassemble the lens, don't even think about taking the lens apart. Take the lens to a reputable camera shop and let a qualified and properly equipped tech handle the cleaning.

I have a Ricoh R8
Hi, well when you say "Every photo I take flashes white" (sic) however then you say (sic)" (In another camera) the same photos review without problems" Well in this case I feel that the camera itself, the actual image taking and storage are all Ok, what is in fact wrong with your camera is the Display, and or the Display driver and electronics.
So I do not think any settings etc, will indeed have any effect. Rather there is a fault with either the screen itself, the power supply to the screen, or the screen driver electronics.
The only way to remedy this situation is to get this camera looked at by a professional so they can isolate the exact cause and repair it. If you are worried about costings, then the best thing to do, is to ask for a "Quote" for the prospective repairs, this way at the least, one can then when in possession of all the details can then make up pnes mind as to repair or replace?
I say this as many of my customers these days prefer to put any monies, that may have had to be spent on repair, towards a new unit with a warrenty
