What do you mean by ' brand new'? If it is less that a year old it may still be covered by a warranty so go back to the store you bought it from and see what they can do. How long is it since you last used it? If you've haven't used it for a few months a battery can get 'old' and struggle to hold a charge even if the display says it's fully charged.
