Samsung (TSH492BLACK) CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Dvd burner problems
I dont understand your question. If you mean burnt dvd's dont play on your dvd player, Check your region code and ensure your burn was region free or region specific to your region.
ensure you used the proper format, PAL or NTSC
and enusre you copied the DVD and didnt drag and drop the files as a data disc.
if you are burning a movie from a avi or mpg file you might need to encode it to dvd format..
i didnt understand your question so if i didnt assume correct please repost it thanks :)

I have a promble that
It should show up in the POST screen.
Go into the bios, and change it to show the POST screen, instead of a logo,
If you need to.
This is the first indicator.
If it shows up, then you might have a problem with windows.
more on that...
but if it doesn't show up in POST,
unhook it, reboot, all the way up. then shut down,
reinstall it CAREFULLY, make sure the cable is done cleanly, and correctly.
then try a reboot and look for it on the POST screen again.
No show, try as new cable, or plug it into a different drive cable and reboot
just to see if it shows up in POST at all again.
No show : the thing is probably dead somehow. you're done,
you need a replacement.
If it shows up in post:
Check the device manager from the control panel. its under "system".
You might see the thing sticking out with a yellow triangle with a ! in it in drives.
That will be a software issue.
you could remove that item and reboot and let windows try to detect it.
Then you need the proper driver, since its a burner.
Go to the Samsung website, know the correct model number,
and get the driver for it.
install the driver, obviously.
Something up there should get it done.
Good luck.

Do this by visiting the Samsung website, you must install the firmware for your exact model of DVD drive.
Take care!

My samsung combo drive TSST
When a drive starts having this problem you need a new drive. Your drive is failing. They are very cheap online, only $20-$30 from NewEgg or Amazon.
