First, try it with another PC to make sure it is not PC Video card problem, if the screen is still dark, then you will have to open it up and do some troubleshooting.
Please read my guide and I am sure some of your students have electronics knowledges.

Please see my basic troubleshooting guide here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide http://www.fixya.com/support/r6150077-basic_lcd_monitors_troubleshooting Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Parts: www.shopjimmy.com Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps. Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series. Please post back what you find.

Power on led is blinking but their is no pic on

You have dying power supply more likely to be due to bad caps, that will be the first place to look.

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on: Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/ Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

You need to have 5vdc (for logic) and 12~18vdc (for backlights) the minute you plug it into the wall outlet. It soinds like you main power is not working at all.

Dismantle Samsung SyncMaster 203b: how??

The lock symbol is for the BELKIN anti-theft locking system that basicaly tied down the monitor to the desk. You will just have to use flat blade screw driver to crack it open starting at the bottom edge, not much you can do from not scratching the case, they use hooked fingers that fit tightly so people cannot easily get to go inside the monitor.

You can go on YOUTUBE and look at some video on how to open LCD monitor cases.

How to improove resolution for

The maximum resolution for that particular monitor is 1280 x 1024 resolution. If it is set to that resolution you cannot go higher than that on an LCD.

If your resolution is lower and you cannot make it go any higher check your graphics card and see if your crad can go that high. You also may want to check and make sure the proper driver is installed for your graphics card

The monitor turns off even without being turned

It is possible that the TV was hit by a small power surge, and the processor has some garbage in it, and you need to leave it unplug for 40 MIN, and that will reset back to normal.

Where is degausses key on my monitor"

LCD monitors don't have degauss buttons. Degaussing was needed with CRT monitors because a magnetic charge would build up on the screen and need to be reset occasionally, though in later CRTs this was done automatically whenever you turned the monitor on.
