Samsung HTP-1200 System Questions & Answers
I have a samsung HT-Z120 it show a PROT error
Hi,
This error means that you are trying to play a region-protected disc that is not in the same region as your player.
It is possible to "hack" the region on your DVD player by following these instructions:

SACD pauses between tracks
Hi.
I know, you cannot listen to Dark Side or Atom Hearth mother with the 4 second blank between tracks.
I am not sure of the player model mounted on this system.
If you have a BD P1200 installed on your system, you should find the setting on the Music Menu (not setup menu):
If that does not apply, then please let me know the model of the player unit only.
Regards.
I have a Samsung ht-p1200
You could try rigging headphones to the speaker output if you don't mind cutting some wires and spending a couple bucks on a headphone jack thing.
Subtitles
I have the same problem with my Samsung, ιt is the DVD-HD870 and it doesn't recognize all of the greek characters (i get an ο instead of ν & θ)
However, check the file-encoding of the subtitles. If it is ANSI then select greek encoding from the setup menu of the DVD (if available).
Kenwood vrs-6100 receivers optical digital
You want to receive the optical signal from the TV's built in decoder / receiver to play through your Kenwood? Maybe you need to select the digital input. The manual says:
Use the INPUT SELECTOR key (or Input Selector keys)
to select DVD, VIDEO or FRONT AUX.
2 Press the INPUT MODE key.
Each press switches the setting as follows:
1 "F-AUTO": Auto detect
("AUTO DETECT" indicator lights up)
2 "D-MANUAL": Fixed to digital input
("DIGITAL" indicator lights up)
3 "ANALOG": Fixed to analog input *
("AUTO DETECT", "DIGITAL" indicator goes off)
Also check your TV to make sure it is outputting to the optical jack.
Not getting sorround sound from my tv
only the hd channels get great surround sound. if your tv has an optical audio out and your surround has the optical in input. then i suggest buying a fiber optic wire for the audio you'll hear a big differance. just hope that the audio stays in sync unlike my cheap *** koss system
Set up help!!
Firstly connect your home theatre outpu HDMI to HDMI input1 on the TV. Then connect the PS£ HDMI to the other HDMI input on the TV. Now connected the optical cable from the PS3 to the optical input of the home cinema system. Your should now have surround sound from the PS3 and DVD.
HTP-1200 Issues with unit
Noot a hundred percent sure but its sounds as though the amplifier unit is overheating and cutting out. Thats why after a while the unit will work again. Is the fan at the rear of the unit working. I had a problem with the fan cutting out and was an easy fix !
SAMSUNG HTP 1200 HOME CINEMA
I wonder whether your system stood around gathering dust for a while when you were looking for a new cable and that you now have dust on the lense. That could explain the inability to play DVDs and perhaps the noise also.
Could I suggest that you try a lens-cleaning CD, or if you can get at the lens, you could try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol (iso-propyl alcohol) or meths on a cotton-bud.
Chewing the cable could always have shorted something and blown a fuse, or worse, but these don't sound like those types of faults to me.
