Every time I play Avatar
We have finally managed to get avatar to play!!!!! We had the same problem. Frustrating I know - but after returning the DVD back to the shop three times, trying updating previously, then waiting for another update from Samsung from Sept (they have not provided a further update) - we are feeling jubilant!
We copied the firmware to a CD disc once again. It did not initally look as if it was loading but if you wait you are asked if you if you want to upgrade eventually. Once you affirm - it takes a good five to ten minutes to process the firmware/ upgrade. It tells you when it has completed. We discovered by chance that you need to then switch off the player and switch back on again for the update to become functional.
Initally we still could not get AVATAR to load as far as the menu screen. We tried newer Blue Ray DVDs purchased December that previously would not play - and now do! To get AVATAR to play we switched off & on the blue ray player with the disc still loaded a couple of times and each time we got a little further towards the functioning menu screen.
A lot of messing around, so be sure you have the time available to persevere!

Bd-p1000 - it won't open. Any tricks to get it to
There should be 6 or 7 phillips or T10 torx on the outside of the unit. Remove them and the top will come off. You should be able to remove the disc and inspect the loading mechanism for broken or stuck gears. You can use a small amount of white lithium grease on the load eject mechanism, if the gears and track are not broken it will help.

I've ordered a blue ray disc from kalahari, but it
DVD's are coded for regions of the world. Unfortunately you have purchased one from a different region. If you are in the US you want to buy from a US dealer or make certain that the dealer provides you DVD's for the US region.
Sorry - but nothing can make that work in your DVD player.
Hopefully Kalahari will return it.

This disc cannot be played
I am tired of these tediuos firmware updates that are for the most part USELESS. I have done everyone till their latest 1.8v. I still can only watch 1/3 of new monvies which really arent all new now. I paid $1000 some for this flagship unit. In my book it has sunk. Samsung will not even address my problem except wait for a firmware comming soon. I WANT A REPLACEMENT OF A SIMILAR NEWER MODEL OR REFUND. I have spent well over 20,000 on samsung home theatre products and I will boycott them forever. When I pay for something I want my moneys worth.
