Samsung Yepp YP-Z5QB MP3 Player - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Touchpad not working
If you have a wireless mouse or a USB mouse plug in and get online to find a downloadable driver for your touch-pad. A lot of file adding and shifting with a touch-pad can get the system fragmented (Defragging may help) and driver files, .dll's, and others your touch-pad needs and uses can get buried in the clutter (file fragments) all over the floor so-to-speak. If defragmentation of your hard drive doesn't work just download new drivers. Here is a safe Download link to look in. There is just about everything here, free and safe too...

oh i think i might know the solution
connect something else like a usb disk to ur computer when it does go to the right bottom corner of the screen where the time shows. then u should see a green arrow on something black icon. double click. that thing shows that ur usb is connected then connect ur mp3 to the computer it should work...but it might not
if u hear that ring noise as soon as u connect that mp3 to the computer u are safe but u have to try other things...

SAMSUNG YP-Z5AS/ELS
I think it says somewhere in the user guide to take care not to over charge it. also did you charge it fully and then let it die before you started using it? Maybe that's your problem, because my battery stays good for days. other than that, i'd say that it's faulty. is it under warranty?

Keeps restting itself
Firstly, try "re-setting" the Z5 (ie micro switch) first. If this doesn't resolve, then firstly save a backup of all your files...then use the 'format' function (ie open My Computer, then open the YP-Z5 folder, then look for the Format function), which will clean out your entire memory, including hidden files. Then download the latest firmware update from Samsung website (download centre/mp3) and save newest firmware onto your Z5. Always update your Z5 with latest firmware (appropriate with your Windows OS). Good luck.

Navigation Pad Won't Work
No... the keypad sensors can only be fixed by relacing the actual touch/keypad itself (unless you're a techy, and have access to a service manual???). If this unit was purchased NEW by previous owner less than 12mnths ago, then it is still under Samsung's factory warranty. If so, this repair may be covered under warranty, and parts are actually available ex Korea (if they don't have already). Good luck.

Mp3 Not Being Recognised and Samsung Media Studio Not Installing
As with any issue with this type of digital device, you should always "RESET" the device first (little micro switch - next to the USB port, or on back)...press with a pin (or similar) for 2-3 sec's. I then suggest you fully 'remove' any Samsung Media software (via add/remove programs under control panel). Re-boot your pc, then connect your Z5 into a know working USB port on pc. See if it installs the Z5's driver correctly (ie starts communicating). If this gets it going, you must now download the newest firmware from Samsung's website (download centre), and then save the files into your Z5 (ie overwrite the old firmware). If this fails, then try Samsung directly for further intructions. Good luck.

I have the same issue where my pc won't recognise my mp3, or only occassionally does, and then locks up. The problem with media player is it eats up so much memory while trying to synch files / delete / add etc and brings your pc to a grinding halt.
So the solution I'm told is the MS Synch Tool, download off MS site and use it rather than the player to switch your files. I'm trying it now.
Good luck.

Changing the Wallpaper
To change the wallpaper, you need to press the back button until there is no menu - only a little bit on the bottom that either says "Welcome" or displays the song you are listening to. Then simply press left or right until you are on the wallpaper you want and press enter.

"playback error"
Try replacing the songs, like, putting them on again. I don't know 100% if it will work but mine had the same problem and this worked.

Use a toothpick to clean out the lint in the usb connector. If you use the mp3 player a lot without the cap lint will build up and cause misalignment when plugging it in the pc.
