Usually the computer automatically recognises the mp3 but in certain cases askes for you to install the cd. Did you try installing the cd that came with the mp3? You can also download the drivers if you know the make and model of your mp3.

use the windows explorer.  Also, you need to make sure there are two folders one labeled "Audio" and the other "Data"  Put music in a folder in the "Audio" folder.  that should work  I had problems when I didn't do it that way.

hey i lost my set-up cd for yp-u1 and i got a new comp how can i downlaod music into it without the compr econgizing my mp3?

If for some unforseen reason you get an error, or the computer plays up during transfer, it can seriously damage your mp3 / flash drive. I had that problem once and I had to do a hard reset. (similar to a system restore). Unfortunately you will most probably loose all or most of your data on the mp3.

I have the exact same problem with my MP3 and I have no idea how to fix it, I hope someone else does, and posts it here soon...

iv had the same problem, all my files are on the Samsung YP-U1 when connected to the pc but when disconnected says no file.

I tried everything but with mine I deleted all the DRM files (Digital Rights Management) and re-copied the non DRM files back to the device and they seem to work now. I dont know if that'l help but its worked on mine.

If not buy a better mp3 player which'l allow DRM files

I had this problem when I accidently formatted the unit as NTFS instead of FAT32, (right click on the removable disc icon in Windows exploroer to check) Have you tried using the recovery mode on the unit? what frimware did you try and upgrade to?

ON the bottom there is asingle sliding button.
SLide it away from the direction of the arrow and the HOLD function will be turned off

plug it 2 the USB port and try again. I had the same problem.

hold down the menu button, go to settings, file, delete file, then chose the one you want to delete.click menu again and you get asked to confirm the delete.no offence but it is in the instructions :P

see the manual book of the mp3 player or visit the web site of the player if mp3"s manual book is not available then see the options of the song in options you will have deleting option then you can delete or else visit your near by show room

the problem is usb hardware in host pc try other usb ports , or change yp u1 firmware.

WELL YOU MUST TO BE SURE THE MP3 PLAYER CAN PLAY A PLAYLIST FILE LIKE M3U OR ANOTHER, IF DONT U CANT SEE THESE FILES AND CANT PLAY THEM

Plug in your player in USB port.After the system reckognizes it right click on My Computer.Select Manage.Computer Management should open.Go to Disk Management.There you`l have disk 0(your hard dribe) and another disk drive which should be YP-1.Right click on YP`s disk folume and select format.Wait a bit,then a dialogue will pop-up.Select format,start the operation and wait until it finishes.After the format is complete your player should work fone.It helped me some months ago and i hope it`ll help you too cuz the situation is exactly the same

MP3 players are very simple. What I do is go to a site called radio blog (radioblogclub.com). No inserting e-mail or anything. After getting the song I like (and loading it), I go to Tools>Internet Options>Settings>View Files then I choose the song I loaded, copy it onto the desktop and convert it (open as...) to a flash (.wav) and then drag it to the MP3 Player. It copies and bam, you're done.(Check it for viruses).Usually it is an .rbs format so I play it on flash, then save as and add .mp3 at the end. Also if the MP3 Player says a whole bunch of stuff you don't need(Audioslave%20-Be%20Yourself%20) select the song and click on properties and go the far right and click advanced and then artist and put in the artist and for title put the title of the song. If you did it right, it should play well. Hope it works
