You can make folders on your MP3 Player, but it will not be shown on the MP3 Player. It's useful if you would like to sort a specific artist/CD. When you plug the Mp3 Player in, it should have an "E" Drive. That's the MP3 Player. Then you delete a song like any other file.

Well, i'm having problems with my Sansa c140 also, but with this problem I think I can help, hook your mp3 player into your computer, than delete all the songs, and simply put them all back on, and if that doesn't work, than repost.

make a prgram can enter to the mp3 player then make a new program for format all things in it.

take out battery for a few seconds. replace it and turn on player. make sure battery has good charge in icon. transfer songs again. in realplayer make sure to hit the "eject device" button. DO NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL PLAYER RETURNS TO NORMAL OPERATION it needs to place all in memory. goof luck

Is your firmware 5.1.11? That appears to be the lastest. Press the slider switch down to lock and press up and hold a few seconds to turn on (and unlock).

there is no (consumer) known way for you to do this on your own. Pay the 25 bucks and send it in so they can do it. That is a glitch in the firmware, nothing you can do about it except remove files. You can flash RockBox firmware on it and that'll fix the problem.

For sansa e270 : lock the sansa by sliding the hold button. Hold record and power button together, it will show black screen and asking entering MSD mode- connect to computer, it will open in 16 mb format- open it and add a folder named "sansa.fmt" -disconnet it from computer now. it will formatted. u will lose all the data saved in it. bt the player will work as usual. it may be possible that u will not be able to view pics or vdeos.

Try holding down the On/Off button for at least 20 seconds. If this doesn't start it up then your unit may be faulty.

there is an option in settings for auto turn off time.. set it as u need.. it must work.

Is the SanDisk showing as a drive on the Imac? You should be able to drag files from the Music folder to the Sansa player to copy them. (You can't connect to ITunes and download directly to the player.) I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

There's a slide switch on the right edge of the machine. Slide it up (away from the headphone jack), hold it for a second, then release.
