Wont except music
Trash the Dumb thing. I have one and it is giving me the same problem by not leting me import new songs or delete the old ones. This device is out dated and that is the problem.
Deleting songs on player e250R
Step One
Connect the USB cable to your Sansa MP3 player, then hook the other end to a free USB port on your computer.
Step Two
Give the computer time to recognize the Sansa MP3 player. Once it has, double-click on the MP3 player’s icon to view the music files stored to memory.
Step Three
Scroll through the list of audio files until you find the ones that you wish to delete from the Sansa MP3 player.
Step Four
Click on single items or click and lasso multiple files.
Step Five
Right-click on the highlighted files to pull down an action list and from there select Delete. The computer will ask if you really want to throw the file away. Select OK.
Step Six
Exit from the window, then disconnect the USB cable from the Sansa MP3 player. The player will automatically turn off. The memory will update the first time you turn the player on after deleting songs.
I hope that helps!!
Deleting
Does the player show up as a disk drive when you connect it to the USB drive of the PC. If so, you should be able use Windows explorer (assuming it's a Windows PC) to access the player like you would any other drive, find and find and delete the files.

Sansa c140 SanDisk
I had the same problem, first on the mp3 player under settings change the USB setting to MSC. Then plug the mp3 player back into the computer. Open the My Computer icon, right click on the SANSA C140 icon and click format. Make sure it's Fat32 and Quick Format is Not selected. Then click format. This will take a few minutes. When it's done your mp3 player will be just like a usb drive; you're files will be read normally.
* if it's a voice recording you're trying to find, look under music and scroll down to Recordings. If it's not there then perform the above format.
Also it only reads mp3s and pictures (gifs, jpgs). Unfortunately the c140 doesn't play videos :(
Recording to computer
Does it show up as a drive on your PC when you plug it into the USB drive of the PC? If so, you should just be able to access it like any other drive and drag/drop the recording files onto your PC.

San disk player repair
I don't know if this will help but you can try this:
If you can, open your mp3 player and go to settings. Under the USB menu
change it to MSC.
If you can't don't worry, but either way try this:
Plug in the mp3 player to the computer. Open
the My Computer on your desktop, right click on the Sansa mp3 player
and click Format. Make sure Fat32 is checked and Quick format is
UNchecked. Then format the mp3 player. After that it should be clean
and work just like a USB drive.
