My sansa mp3 only begins to turn on when i connect it to the pc but then freezes when it says 'Sansa m250 2.0 Gb' please help

Look further than the batteries. Take the whole thing apart. That's what I do, and I've fixed a lot of things. And keep looking on the internet. A few hours of looking can result in years of listening.

I did not have driver

You should have PC with windows XP and windows media player 9 or later.
In this case you don't need any driver.
1. Use the USB connector cable provided with your player to connect the USB port on your player to an open USB port on your computer. The player will appear as a removable drive in Windows File Explorer.
2. Drag and drop music files to the player from any location on your hard-drive or use a variety of music software to move music to your Sansa. For more information on how to use specific software, please refer to the help files provided with each program.

NOTE: Because your Sansa Player automatically organizes your music by artist, album, song title, genre, and year, you only need to copy your music to the player. Your Sansa will automatically create a music library which you can later sort with easy-to-use menus.

Good luck!
Thanks.

When I connect my m230 to my computer, it shows

Sandisk Sansa players have had a bit of a history hiding some files away before. I believe if you were to disconnect your m230 and turn it on, you would still have that music available. If that is the case, it is most likely a problem with the USB transfer protocol.

If your music is still on there and can be played, there is actually nothing to stop you from transferring more songs onto your device. Once the files are loaded and the device disconnected, your m230 should update accordingly. The drawback is you cannot find and remove your old songs from your computer.

If that is what you want, try this:
With your Sansa disconnected from your computer, turn it on and navigate to the Settings Menu. Then select the USB submenu. There should be two options: Auto Detect and MSC. If one is selected, try the other and reconnect it to the computer. Check the folders and see if there is anything in them.

Worst case scenario is there was a glitch in one of the USB modes. A reformat, either by restoring factory defaults on your device or using your computer to reformat should start you from scratch.

I would recommend reading the manual for any other questions you may have. As with an increasing number of products, manuals are posted online by the manufacturers.

Hope this helps.

My son can't get his sansa mp3 player to turn on.

Try this:
1.First, remove the battery. Then press and hold the "Menu" button for 30 seconds. This would cause the excess static electricity to be discharged from the player.

Insert a fresh battery and try to power it on. If it still doesn't power on, try the procedure again, but this time, press and hold the "Menu" button for 1 minute. Insert a fresh battery again and see if it would work.
2.
Plug your player in your computer and your Operating system should recognize it as a "Removable Disk" and it will have a drive letter. Right click on the M230 drive letter and select "Format". When the Format window appears, just make sure to set the File System type to "FAT" and make sure that the "Quick Format" option on the bottom section of the window remains un-checked. Click start to format the player. Follow the on-screen prompts.
3.

I have a mac and

The only way to solve this is delet some files from the device, and then try and add a new file that is less size than what was deletd. If it works, then the Mac is misreporting the file size of the device or the remaining space on the Sansa storage chip. Its pretty common.
