Comcast put an SMC EZ Connect g on our desk top
Make sure there is not same ip addreses in router and computer.
Enable DHCP server in router configuration page.
For that connect your router t ocomputer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then you can see configuration page of router.
Then go to advanced option and find DHCP enable DHCP.
Then save settings and restart router.
If still not works then RESET router.
For that RESET button is in back panel of router press it for 10 seconds.
Then configura your router with above link.

My laptop could not acess the internet
It may because you have a mac filter on. If so you can correct this by connecting to the router then in a Internet explorer type 192.168.1.1 and you should have a configure screen available then either disable the mac filter or enter the other mac adresses. Good Luck
