check your input settings on the cables make sure they are in right and the tv is on the right input otherwise you may have a bad screen

Hello,

First check that any muting control is not activated. This might be
a button on the remote or set itself. If you have a headphone jack, it
may have dirty contacts as plugging in a headphone usually mutes
the speaker.

If the set is mono or only one channel of a stereo set is out, then
check for bad connections to the loudspeaker. Test the loudspeaker by
disconnecting one of the wires (with the power off!) and measuring its
resistance with an ohmmeter (it should be less than 100 ohms - probably
less than 8 ohms). Or momentarily touch a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker
terminals - you should get a click or pop from the speaker.

Next, trace back from the speaker output terminals to the circuit board
and look for bad solder connections or a loose or dirty connector.

If these tests do not reveal anything, you probably need a scope (or
audio signal tracer) and schematic. Or at least the part number off of
the chip. Is the final amp a chip also or just a transistor? Have you
tested the transistor? If there is little or no buzz from the speaker,
that would indicate a problem fairly near the output. If the tuner/if were
bad, I would expect some noise/humm pickup from the low level audio stages.
Get the part number off of the chip. If it is in a socket, check the
contacts for corrosion or looseness.

  • If your DirecTV box supports HDTV then connect it using either an HDMI cable from the box to the TV (located on the back, labeled HDMI 1,2,3,etc.).
  • If the box is not an HDTV box then connect it with a RGB (red, green, blue) composite cable from the box to the TV.
  • If the RGB output is not on the ack of the box then connect using a standard coaxial cable.

[NOTE] In order for the quality of the picture to be HD, use the RGB for digital (Better), or the HDMI for High-def (Best)

Cost is relative.
The higher your skill with electronics the less it will cost.
You have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
The TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
It's not an expensive fix but let the tech know that you know whats wrong but don't have the parts to fix it or something like that so that he doesn't charge for a bunch of stuff that wasn't wrong.

next is check the power supply section/board replace all bulging capacitors from the power supply.use the same value and rating of capacitor.Resolder also all the components from the power supply.re tighten all the connectors..you can also replace the whole power board you can order it online.in the meantime try first my first solution then post back if it doesn't work.good luck!

You need to find out mare as to what else that the repair shop left out, all the coonectors need to be checked to see if they are in correct place, beside missing the SPEAKER board, no other boards are missing? I would go back and have them put all the old boards back inplace, he may have takebn out the inverter board and others to use for other repair jobs.
You may need the service manual to figure out.

That is an error code of sorts for that brand - I'd open it up and check the power supply for bad capacitors - leaking at the top or bottom - bulged at the top etc - replace them or the power supply and go from there.

If the remote is still not working for your tv, just follow the steps that I have provided below. You will want to follow the link below, and will walk you through a power scan. U have to look for screws at the rear of the TV.. unscrew it .. and u can remove the panel to gain access to the power slot.

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.


Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.


Here are some options for you.


1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.


3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.


This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

Do not shut off the TV. Put cardboard in front of screen when not watching.
MY THEORY
The power serge when the TV is turned on puts a stress on the caps (ac to dc volts) .
Continued off -on weakens the caps until failure.

Hi,
We need to narrow down problem as is it tv or remote control is cause of problem.
Lets confirm remote first, take any digital camera and watch remote front through camera, press power button of remote, you will notice infra red light will blink on remote front while watching it through digital camera because camera can see infra red light but we don't.
Once remote got confirmed that power button is sending signal properly then it is tv that is cause of problem.
Let me know your findings to proceed further.

I came across the same problem and i replaced all the capacitors on the power board and that fixed it. but now it came back with bad ccfl tubes backlight. hope this helps.
