Philips HTS3541/F7 - 5.1-Channel Blu-ray Home Theater System with Questions & Answers
Back speakers don't play
Check the wiring. If there is a break in the wire they will not play. Also check where they connect to the back of the device.

My Philips HTS3541/f7 5.1 will not read blu rays or dvds how can this be corrected?
I think if you try a CD disc, you will find that disc will play. The Optical Pickup(laser) has worn out of specification. There are actually 3 lasers in the unit; a CD, DVD and Blu Ray lasers. They are all use different wavelengths of light, so one laser cannot cover all 3 wavelengths. Unfortunately, you will need a new pickup. Again, try the CD. I'm 90% sure it will play fine, unless the pickup is covered in dust(like my house :-(. WANT TO WATCH INTERNET VIDEO
Look up the program called playon. I have been using it for 3 years and its pretty good. You need at least a high DSL speed, cable modem is great. You also need a decent computer, although I bought a acer notebook from walmart for $250 as a dedicated playon server and it worked well. And finally you need a DNLA compatible player to connect to your tv. Some TVs have this built in if it is able to be put on the home network. PS3 ,360, Wii are all able to fine DNLA servers on the network. Sony made a bluray that was also able to find DNLA servers and that is what I use. However the new PS4 I've read is not DNLA capable, so newer sony bluray may not also. Basically playon collectes videos from free sites and logs them. You pull up the playon server on the TV with whatever device you are using to connect it to the tv. Now just scroll through the all of them until you get what you are looking for, click and it plays.

I can get sound from the radio and dvd, but no tv sound or video from dvd or tv.
It would all depend on which type of connection you are using. HDMI, Coaxial and Optical, are all digital outputs/inputs and not analog. Make sure you have switched whatever input you are using to analog or digital, whichever is appropriate. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.
