I find that if you are having any issues the best way is to connect the printer directly to the router ( this works with printers that do not send a signal to the router in the first place ) and this will allow your PC to send the signal to the router which will in turn pass it on directly to the printer because it will be joined up with a cable . I know its probably not the preferred method but it should allow you to print and sort out any issues . Depending on your system you might need to install a app that will allow you to do this , they are free and available on the google store.

Twain is the scanner interface program on the computer. Something is missing from the install or the XP system software. Double check to make sure you're installing an XP-compatible version of the scanner software. The program for newer versions of Windows likely assumes the presence of some software components that may not be there in XP unless the install program puts them in.
