How do I get my adminastrative password

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Toshiba m60-104 screen dark new screen new iverter

Have you tried an external monitor? Plug in an external monitor and see if the display shows up on it. It can be any kind of monitor even the old big fat crt monitors as long as it has a vga cable to connect to your computer's vga port. If the display shows on the external monitor that proves your video card is ok and your lcd screen is the issue. The video will show on most systems when you reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display. If is shows on the external monitor, then you would have to question if the new screen and lcd inverter is bad. Just because they are new don't mean they work. Are you sure you purchased the lcd screen and inverter that is for your model?

Motherboard packed in. Case badly damaged. I need

Free Service Manual for the Toshiba Satellite M60 series of Notebook PC's,

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-toshiba

Scroll down to the second Satellite heading. The one that begins with Satellite A10.
Drop down to the third line, and scroll across. Left-click on M60.

This is a PDF file. It may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.
It may also take additional time for the file to fully download.

In the Bookmarks menu to the left, click on - Appendix F Series Screw Torque List
Gives you the torque specs for the screws, but also names the size, number of screws, and where they go.

You can also go step by step in disassembling through the manual, and record what screws, and where they go.
(Starting on Page 104. {Using the page number box at the top header of the PDF file)

[ Use a multi-compartment container for the various screws you remove.
Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.
If a multi-compartment container is not available, a clean egg carton can be used as a substitute.
Label each egg holder ]

Pictorial guide,

The main thing to remember is to follow Anti-Static Precautions!
I suggest you use an ESD wrist strap, and have it's alligator clip connected to a good ground source.
(I use an empty desktop computer case, and connect to the metal frame when working on laptops)
An ESD wrist strap averages around $3 to $5.

From a quick search just now I see a lot of listings on Ebay for a motherboard. (Toshiba Satellite M60 series)
NOT advertising for Ebay.

Better look at the ID number on the board, and buy the same board.
This way the BIOS program, and motherboard chipset will be the same.

[When Windows is installed on a computer, it assigns hash values to major hardware components in the computer.

Processor, Motherboard, (Motherboard chipset, BIOS program, and version, to be more specific), graphics 'engine' (GPU), and harddrive, for a few examples.

Change any two of these components, and Windows will want to be reactivated.
(Not registered, Activated)

Changing a motherboard changes two components.
Motherboard chipset, (Two I.C.'s actually), and BIOS program.

Use the same motherboard intended, and Windows won't throw up a flag ]

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

My laptop screen is black,

First of all do you see anything on the screen, but really really dark, or is it pitch black. If you see something but it is black, then it is your screen backlit bulb and needs to be replaced. If it is just pitch black and nothing, then it mostly your inverter or a loose connection between your base to your screen since laptop tends to open and close alot.

The Satelite M60 turns on

First open back cover of laptop then reconnect RAM memory and then check. Also check are you able to enter in bios or not. This problem occurs when your harddrive is not recognized in bios or windows system files are damaged. For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALt+F2 key to enter in bios. Then disable SATA if it was enabled. Then save settings also go to boot menu and set first boot device as harddrive save settings then check. If still same issue then boot computer with windows disk then follow the procedure and choose Repair option then it will repair windows . then it will be working fine. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Multiple squiggly lines fill the LCD screen, after

Sounds to me like your inverter has gone bad. Typically it's situated just below your LCD. To get to it you will have to take out the screws around the LCD bezel. It's a long, skinny circuit board that the LCD plugs into. You can usually find a replacement on Ebay. Just be sure that you're ordering the correct part, otherwise it may not fit or work properly. I've also had times when the entire LCD was going bad and the display was full of squiggly lines. It's hard to say which one is the cause. I would try replacing the inverter first. That part is usually much cheaper than the LCD is.

Toshiba m60 will not power up - power supply is

If you know for sure the ac adapter is okay and the laptop won't turn on then its got to be the motherboard that is bad cause that is where the power goes thru to start.

Take out the battery and only hook up the ac adapter and see if the laptop will turn on then, if it does then that means the battery needs to be recharged up or bad if it won't charge up.

If you take the battery out and the laptop still won't turn on then you know for sure motherboard is bad.

Wont read the hard drive when I start the computer

This is probably due to a complete failure of the internal hard drive.
This laptop uses a 2.5" IDE hard drive.

Shuts off suddenly

Well the laptop shuts down suddenly so as to protect your CPU chip from getting fried. It's caused by overheating due to dust or improper chips contact with copper pipe.
You need to take the laptop apart & clean it particularly the air vent allowing hot air to move out.
Then you need to see if the CPU chip & (sometimes the chip on the motherboard), is having good contact with the copper pipe. If it's the case, you need to apply a good thermal grease on the chips after cleaning the old grease. Replace back all the stuffs back again.

Lap top won't switch on in the AM

The motherboard is going bad in your laptop if it takes all that to get it to turn on. If your laptop is under warranty, I would get a hold of Toshiba or the store you got the laptop from and complain. Regardless, the motherboard is whats bad in that laptop since the voltage goes thru that board. It also controls how the laptop turns on.
