When I turn on my Toshiba A55 laptop nothing boots up

you system is experiencing a no POST power-on self test, meaning your system board is not responding but since you you mentioned that you hear a beeping alarm I guess it sounds like a fire alarm in a way te only possible cause of that would be a faulty processor on your laptop and needs to be replaced.

I have a toshiba satellite a55-s1063 laptop

Hello,

Yes your battery needs replacing, I guess you have had the computer for a couple of years or so.
Check out a dealer on Ebay with a good feedback rating and try one of the cheaper batteries, if it lasts a year then its a good deal, with most batteries if you get two years you have done well.

Hard drive fix or patch

ensure that LBA is enabled in the bios on the laptop and also read the manual for the laptop in terms of hard drive issues ( possibly contact toshiba )
There may also be a firmware update that may rectify the issue so I would check into updating the firmware - check there website for the correct firmware and read the read me.
It is VITAL that you get the correct one and that it does not power off whilst you are doing the firmware update otherwise it will kill your laptop.
Also if this resolves the issue please rate this as a fix
If you need more help / more info please feel free to post back

Monitor is very very faint but you can see it in

1. Check to make sure the display brightness is turned all the way up. Sometimes this gets turned down. Look for the symbol on your keyboard that looks like a light or sun with the arrow up mark.

2. Laptop displays use a backlight tube(s) to transmit light though the LCD appetures that give you color and graphics. This one or more of the flourescent tube may be out. You will need to have a Toshiba qualified tech replace the lights for you.

Entire keypad stopped working, or responding.

Sounds like it could be malware. Please try to boot to safe mode and scan for infections. If your antivirus software doesn't run in safe mode, boot the computer with a recovery disc - the original OS installation discs can be used for boot up as a temporary option. Once you're in, the system should be more stable than when running on its own depending on what has been corrupted by the infections. Once your machine is clean, there should be no more freezing or hanging, but if there is it could be leftover damage by the bugs so please run the disk check utility for errors and if that doesn't stop the problem, then do a partial (repair) install of your OS to replace the drivers and other components that the viruses damaged. If this works for you, please do rate me. Thanks and good luck. Hope it all goes well for you.

Black screen ask for password

Black screen with "Enter Password" in blue box. - BIOS password.
To reset: take the CMOS battery out then place it back again.

Black screen with Enter password in the upper right left corner - could be hard disc password.,
If you set up the password before, you can only bypass that by entering the correct password. If not, it will render the hard disc useless.

Replace rtc battery

Your RTC battery is located secured to the motherboard by cable. It can only be reached by the disassembly of the laptop. Below is a link to the service manual for the F10.

When i turn my laptop on it says password. i dont

This is a password for the BIOS. To override this and reset to "NO" password you will need to disconnect the power cord, remove the laptop battery and remove the clock battery inside the laptop for,,,say 10 minutes. This last step will require you to open the laptop. In Toshiba laptops, it is generally located near the RAM slots, and can be replaced without opening the whole laptop casing. Please find the exact location and replacement instruction from the Manual.

Good Luck
