The cursor on the touch-pad is probably disabled...try to go into the control panel ..and under he touch pad see if you can activate the cursor again ..If there is no possibility ...just download the touch pad driver again from the support site ..and run it into computer to install ...Restart when you finish and it should work again ..cause when newly installed the program is defaulted and all settings are new.

I HAVE AN toshiba pro
This is a classic case of windows being bugged on ..and the virus is to blame for stopping (freezing ) ..You need to reinstall the operation system from scratch ..and format the hard disk C drive during this operation ...To do that you can use the recovery partition if it has one ..just press f12 or f11 (indicated on screen on start 0 and go to boot menu and select the recovery of operation system ..and if it has a recovery partition will reinstall it ..If you do not have such a partition ..use the recovery disk ..just insert it ..press f12 and choose the boot from cd ..and enter . pay attention cause it will ask you to press any key to continue ..In case you do not have a recovery disk either..You will need a boot-able disk with the operation system ...and you have to install the operation system the classic way by booting up from the disk ..let me know if you do not know how to do it ..and I will try to explain and guide you in making such a disk if you don't have it

Hi there, have a nice
First be sure it is not a video driver issue ...If ti is ...it will display at least teh devices on start ..and after that go black when it gets to windows...In this case you need to boot in safe mode by pressing F8 on start and in this mode to reinstall the video driver and it will fix the issue ..If you can hear the sound of windows logon ...but you never have any image at all ..not even the devices on start or the logo ..than it is something wrong with the display ..either teh ribbon or the inverter (for the last one..you can see shadows on it ..if you pay attention ) To be sure it is the display ...just hook up a external monitor in the vga port aside..and if you have good image and no issue it is sure is the ribbon or inverter ..but if you have no image on this either ..than it may be teh video card to blame ..

When I open my laptop, the screen wiil open, flash
OK ..I think it is a driver issue ..and some changes you made on its settings will now causes this ..when it starts the windows..The fact that it shows the image for a short time ..makes me think it has nothing physically wrong ..and just when the windows kicks in it goes issued..To fix this you need to boot on windows in safe mode...This will not use the driver for video ..and will show image if my guess is correct ..to do that ...just press on start the F8 key repeatedly ..and choose the safe mode from the menu ..and press ok (enter) .once in windows ...you need to remove the driver or at least to load it again ...To do that ..use the driver disk you got when you bought it ..or download it from the support site ..and run it into computer .here is the link
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Download&sn=falseselect the exact model and exact operation system ..and choose teh video driver and download it ..

I think the problem is the Bluetooth device on the laptop ...be sure it is installed and has the correct driver ..and also is enabled..For enabling it ..just open the Bluetooth device from the start /all programs ...and scan for the other device ..and add it in the list of devices...After that they will be paired and will work OK ..If you do not find the Bluetooth ..just go to device manager..Right click on computer icon ..choose properties..than (hardware for xp ) and device manager .In there look for bluetooth device ..under the network devices ..and if it is in yellow with a ask sign ...you need to install its driver and will work after that ..The driver can be found on the support site of the manufacturer ..or on the disk with drivers that came with the computer when you bought it ..

Well my Toshiba Sattlite a105
I think it came with a 512M on a 533 mhz bus speed (ddr2) and it supports up to 2G DDr2 on 533 ..Pay attention on the bus speed if you want to upgrade...and not insert anything else but 533 mhz cause you may experience problems with it ...I suggest not to use teh maximum either ..but if you have already a 512 M in one slot ...just buy and use another 1H module in the other slot ..and will be working great ..even on windows & ..which require at least 1G of ram ..Good luck ! ..and please rate my answer ...

Keyboard is locked..what to do
If your r\keyboard does not react in in windows only ..and do react when you try to get into bios with F2 it means it has no fault but it is just disabled for some reason ...try to get into bios (press f2 ) and in there look for advanced.... and in there for keyboard and enable it ,..save the changes with f10and restart ..if does not work ..try to see if it is disabled from device manager ...(click right on computer ..and choose properties ..and (hardware for xp ) and device manager direct for w7)..In there look for the keyboard under human interface ..and enable it if it is disabled..or if it has no driver and it shows in yellow with ask sign ..or so ...click right on it ..and update driver ..Usually in these cases the driver is present but just no loaded by windows or corrupted..Run the driver from the disk again or download it from support site ..If it shows ok on device manager but ..just do not work ..it may be faulty on physical level and need to be changed..You may try to use a external usb based one meanwhile ..and look for a replacement ..good luck !

. I have a toshiba satellite a105 that will boot
hmm I don't really understand what you mean by home screen ..but I think you mean the desktop ...and in this case ..If it freezes it means it is already corrupted. by a virus..and need to be reinstalled. This can be done using the recovery partition .or disk ..or using a boot-able disk with the operation system ..If you have the recovery partition ..just start again ..and press f12 for the boot menu ..(or F11 depending on how is set ..and it is written on screen what you should press for this menu ) ..and select in the boot menu the recovery partition and the complete reinstalling of the operation system ..This will make it work again ..Another thing that may caused this ..is if you installed more than one antivirus ..and now they ar ein conflict ...try to see if it works to make any commands if you wait...(if it is just really slow .) ..and if it works ..try to remove one ..if it is the case..and it may work and not need to reinstall it ..but ..in those cases usually the radical solution is the fastest and best ..If you do not have a recovery disk or partition ..you need to borrow a operation system disk ..or make one by burning a downloaded image with the OS ..They are available on the net ..if you are willing to try one ..(look on the torrent site ..like pirate bay or mininova ...and see what is available ...be sure you download a genuine one ..and follow the instructions for to burn it right and be functional ) ..

What's your probleIM trying to install windows
If this is a blue screen error and it do not let you to install the operation system ..but only loads a few files ..it means that you have let the hard disk set by default ..in BIOS and it is on sata bus..and needs to install the ahci driver ...If you have its original driver disk ..and you have a bootable disk with the operation system ..try to see if it takes the driver from a memory stick ...Just run the installation from the boot-able disk ..and press f 6 when it asks for 3rd party driver ..if you installing windows XP ..or ..when you get to the first screen on windows 7 ..choose to load driver and browse for the ahci driver on the usb stick ..if it can be found..or load it into a partition instead..or a external floppy disk ..Or ..make a boot-able memory stick .and load windows from it ..and use the original disk with drivers to load the ahci driver ..In case non of these will work ..just go to bios settings first ..and under the hard disk 0 ..select to disable the ahci mode...and select ide compatible ..or ide default ..or plain ide...anyway ..just not ahci ....and the hard disk will be seen and will let you to install the operation system ..If you are trying to install from a recovery disk ..it may not work ..cause will not recognize the hard disk and may need to use files usually stored in the reserved partition of windows..so ..best to try install from a boot-able disk or boot-able usb device ..and after that load all drivers and programs ..including antivirus..remember to get the lan driver in handy ..cause without it you will not be able to connect top the internet and finish the drivers and programs installing ..let me know if you solved the problem and please rate my answer if it's helpful ..have a nice day !

Bios password reset
Usually if you open it and remove the battery for a few seconds...(30 or so ) ..in normal mode should remove the password cause the BIOS should reset to the factory settings ..when you cut the power..and delete all settings ..But ..there are laptops ...that will not reset ..cause they either have a separate power for the memory ..or ..the memory type used to store that info ..is not needing power to store them and remember..and in this case ..you either have to contact the manufacturer and ask for a back door master password ..and go in a disable this one ..or ..upgrade BIOS ..or reinstall it ..which is a tricky operation ...and risky ..or ..try to see if you can avoid making changes to bios ..for example ..if you want to reinstall the operation system ..and you need to rearrange the boot order ...use the F12 or F11 key instead...the one designated for the boot menu ..and just pick the cd /dvd or the usb device and hit enter ..and will work ..with no changes on bios..If you really need to make changes on BIOS settings ..than you should try to get in side it ..and remove the battery for a few seconds..and this will reset to factory defaults ..and will probably erase the password..or ..at least you will default the settings ..and if it is a matter of recognizing new component (hardware ) this will work ..by the way ..if the battery is not removable ..look for the pins for clr cmos..They should be visible and need to be shorted with a jumper ..and same way ..a few seconds..and this will clear the cmos (bios ) memory

you can remove the bios backup battery inside.
open your laptop and locate it on the motherboard, remove it for about a minute and replace it back.
your bois settings will all be reset including your password.

Toshiba a105, wont power up, clicking sound
I seem to have the same problem. I have an a105-4134. Ive had since June of 2006 and ive kept it clean and have replaced several components throughout its life.
I was working on it few days ago until it just shut off. Confused, I press the power button thinking maybe the power adapter wasn't plugged all the way in and the battery depleted and it shut off. So now the computer will now power on. It lights up but shuts off within 1 second. Keeps doing this over and over.
My first thought was the dc jack as ive read it is common to be faulty after long use. I ordered a new one and unfortunately it was not the culprit. I then suspected the cheap aftermarket power adapter which replaced the dead oem power adapter. Bought a new one and experienced the exact same symptoms yet again.
Now I'm digging deep removing all components one by one. With each one I remove, I gain a few seconds of time that it will stay on before shutting off on its own. I powered it on with only the motherboard and cpu and it does the same thing.
From the original problem in this post, the cpu and motherboard were swapped out and same symptoms still occurred. This being the case, the only component left undiagnosed is the power board itself.
This is where I noticed that the computer will power up and run on battery power. The adapter plugged in will charge the battery but not power the computer while running. With this discovery it means that it cannot be any of the main components causing the problem.
Back to the power board, an obvious problem area seeing how this is tied in with power components. From the looks of it, it seems like a simple switch board but i may be wrong. My next step is to order a new power board. I will let you all know how it turns out.

Battery is not charging
If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

For laptop: Toshiba Satellite A105: My battery
Start by trying another power outlet.
The power adapter should have its own light. If it doesn't light up then the adaper is bad. Kensington.com sells very inexpensive universal power adapters. You might also find a good deal on eBay.
If the adapter lights up then it may be your battery. Notebook batteries are only good for 2-3 years. If you let them sit for a long time without a charge they may only last 1-2 years.
Vote for this solution if it helps.
