If you forget your Windows password or if your password expires, you must reset your password before you can log on to your computer.
You can reset your password, if one of the following condition is true:
- You can log on as an administrator to assign a new password to your account. To do this, try Method 1.
Note When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank.
- You have previously created a password reset disk for the computer. To do this, try Method 2.
If you do not have a reset disk or cannot log on as an administrator, unfortunately, you may have to reinstall Windows XP and all other programs that were installed on the computer before you can use the computer again. This is for security. Without these safeguards, anyone could reset a password to anyone else's computer and gain access to private information.
There are a lot of tools and utilities that can be downloaded and used to recover, reset, retrieve or reveal existing password. These password reset or retrieval utilities, free or paid, are usually a Linux boot disk or CD that able to comes with NT file system (NTFS) drivers and software that will read the registry and rewrite the password hashes, or can brute force crack the password for any user account including the Administrators. The advantage is that there is no fear of leaking your password to outsiders, while the process requires physical access to the console and a floppy or CD drive, depending on which tool you choose. And it's not easy, although it always work!
Offline NT Password & Registry Editor - Available as bootdisk or bootable CD, Offline NT Password and Registry Editor works to change or reset password of any users on Windows NT 3.51, NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Vindows Vista 32 and 64 bit. It can also detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled user accounts.

Removing cd drive from toshiba satelite A55-s106,
There should be a screw at the bottom of the laptop that holds down the very end of the drive. The screw hole will have a picture of a disc next to it. If you look underneath and get a sense of where the drive is, you can find that screw. Remove the screw, slide the "C" attachment, and the drive should slide out from the laptop where it plugs into its' connection.

Locations of these devices vary from model to model but, in most cases, these devices are found underneath the keyboard. Some manufacturers locate the cells in odd places like underneath a mouse ball, touch pad or in the screen frame housing. Not all CMOS batteries are CR232

I was having a bios password problem and was told
What you were told is usually true for desktop computers, but is _rarely_ true for laptop computers.
This is a feature to protect your files from being accessed _after_ your laptop computer has been stolen.
Find your original sales-receipt, to prove that you, not the thief, is in possession of the computer, and telephone Toshiba, to get "technical support" on your BIOS-password problem.

My toshiba satellite A55 won't turn on
Hi. Try this simple steps:
Remove the battery and ac adapter. Press and hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Plug the ac adapter in and leave the battery aside. If the system still doesn't turn on, try to reseat your memory modules. If still nothing happens, you have to replace the motherboard.
Hope it helps!
