The grinding noise sounds like it could be the fan blade hitting the housing. Have your verified that it is the fan that is making the noise? Does the fan feel loose or rub the housing when turned? Well you have already purchased another fan and have gone this far so I say continue dis-assembly if it is the fan. If you were looking to get a new TV then get one but don't trash this one. If you repair it you could sell it or give it to a friend/family member. A new 52in HDTV is not that cheap.

this is the worst investment I have ever mede after replacing the bulb for every six months the color wheel goes out and its 750 to repair
basically after the initial arm and a leg the TV came back for the other ones And the customer service from Toshiba is even wors than the TV I guarantee you will end up cursing at them before you hang up in there face after the smart *** remarks If you buy this TV your as stupid as I was

have the fan replaced asap before something is heat damaged.

it sound like you have a bad dmd bord that is whear the pix come from do it do all the time in video1&2 or hdmi
if so it could be antboard or the dig board to you should take to a repear shop.

If it continues after the set is off then it is a noisy lamp fan. This fan stays on until the lamp is cool.

Replace the lamp.

The buzzing is the ballast arc gap,normal sound. When the tv starts does the lamp start to come on. Can you see any light from the back? Sounds like bad ballast. Unfortunatly this part is no longer available. the light engine will have to be removed and sent to Toshiba to be rebuilt.

Light from the lamp is getting itnto the top inside of the set Just changing the lamp should not cause this problem. I've seen this where someone has cahnged the light engine and did not reinstall the foam gasket aroun the lense . But any way look for an opening from the lamp area into the upper chamber where the mirror is.Light from the lamp should only go into the light engine and not into the upper chaber except through the projection lense.

hello the fuse would be located in the power supply, if the fuse is black it's blown if you put another 1 in and it blows again you have dead short somewhare make sure the powers off and the same rated fuse, ps there may 2 fuses

Check to see if you are in a zoom mode. There should be a pic size button on the remote, it can also be adjusted in the menu and cycle until you get either AUTO or Standard zoom. If this does not fix it, the light engine will need to be replaced.

It could be the color wheel in the TV that you are hearing. There is a color wheel that spins in order for you TV to display colors and if it is struggling to stay at the right speed, it could cause the sound that you are hearing.

The fans also make some sound as when they spin and will remain on for a few minutes after the TV is turned off in order to cool the TV.

Have you replaced the lamp since purchasing the unit. If it has been at least two years since you brought the television, then its time for a new one. The lamp door is usually located on the back of this set but some times on the side. Remove the lamp and it may be shattered in its housing, replacing it with Lamp part # D95-LMP lamp.

The Color Wheel in the Optical Engine is what is most likely causing the problem. It is a very expensive part and I would call Toshiba at 1800-631-3811 and see if they could help you with the cost and also referring a Service Repair Facility to you.

It's likely your color wheel rather then your fan. I've replaced quite a few of these and the fans are usually good. Get and estimate - I generally charge $250-350 Total
also google your model # and color wheel to investigate further.

Toshiba TVs can make a diagnostic bleep bleep, but a prolonged whining noise may be caused by a faulty component.

For example, when problem is the lamp you get the three lights with lamp light on , and a warning beeps with the TV going on standby.

If you are continuously loosing picture, the fault can be PSU, ballast board or Convergence board.
High pitched squealing noise may had been caused by a melting capacitor or component in one of this parts.

PSU is the power board attached to power cord.
Ballast board is the high voltage board powering the lamp.
Convergence board is regulating convergence through power amp ICs.

This parts must be tested by a technician.

All you can do as a user is leaving TV disconnected from power overnight. This will fix minor problems if there is no real fault, I do not think it will work in your case.

The best option is calling Toshiba at the number listed on owners manual to see if they can offer an extended repair plan, or to see what they may charge for repair.

The issue is not the lamp. When it is the lamp , TV stays off with lamp warning on, in the best case the problem is the lamp power board.
