Will not turn own it reads contact manufacturer for repair.
The hard drive became disconnected. I took out all of the screws to the outer case (5), gently slid cover down until the small ribbon connector for the power buttons is exposed, unclip and remove. Set aside back of unit (at this point the hard drive might come with it if the ribbon has come out of the back) at the top there is a two screw metal bracket that covers the ribbon connection for the hard drive. Remove the ribbon from the main unit and gently force it back into the hard drive ribbon connector. once fully seated you can reinsert the other end, replace the two screw bracket in a way that holds the ribbon down. Slide the backing back far enough to reinsert the power buttons ribbon connector and then test it before you throw in those last 5 screws.

Can't sync DVD file to gigabeat
I have a 40gb gigabeat v2 audio player and I am unable to sync music files from cds to download to player. I get a message stating that an error has occurred. I also asked for help earlier onhow to download update to v3 as the instructions given on the site were not helpful
How do I replace a battery in this device?
Replace the Battery
- Remove five screws: two on the side, two on the bottom and one on
the back behind the lanyard hook. When that screw is removed, remove
the lanyard hook insert.
- Slide the metal backing down as shown in the photo. Then pull it straight up.
- Unhook the ribbon connection attached to the metal backing by
lifting up on the brown flap where the ribbon is connected. The ribbon
will then slide out.
- Pull the hard drive back as shown in the photo.
- Remove two screws near the bottom of the player. One is on the bottom and one is on the right side near the battery switch.
- The battery is now exposed. You can disconnect it by gently pulling on the red and black cables.

Driver files for Toshiba Gigabeat MES30VW
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

make sure the mp3 is powered by the AC charger. i remember when i connected without the charger, it wasn't connecting at all. n then when i put the charger with it, it worked fine
Hold sign is showing all the time
you prolly broke the hold button while it was on hold and now you are switching to unhold which makes no difference. dissamble n see if you broke the hold button; if that's the case, put it to unhold n then it should work.
Recover from error
prolly the hdd is damaged. or give it a hard shake on your palms maybe that works. cuz it worked with mine
