Maytag electric oven model cwe5800acb.
Yes, replace the lower element by first turning off the circuit breaker to the oven (110V is still to half of the 220V element circuit even though the oven setting is turned off), then unscrew the two screws holding the element to the back wall of the oven, then pull the element out (may have to tug it a bit to get the connectors through the insulation), and pull the wire connector clips off the element.

How many active terminals are there at the main terminal block in the new oven. Is this a single or 2 phase supply. Have you connected the active supply to all active terminals. If only half of the oven is working it sounds like it could be a problem at the terminal block. If so, you need to put a loop or bridge wire to the 2nd active terminal.
If all this was done correctly when connected the only other thing it could be is the electronic clock needs to be set to manual mode for the oven to work correctly.

You need to replace the fan & test the wires for any juice or amps with a electric amp tester.Good luck
After implementing the self cleaning
Hi - Welcome to FixYa.
Many ovens, including Maytag, have a built in safety feature which prevents opening of the oven door for about 1 hour after the self-cleaning cycle has finished. The self-clean feature works at a much higher temperature than the maximum cooking temperatures so it's designed to prevent access until the oven is fully cooled.
If you have already waited an hour and still can't open it, try leaving it a little longer. If it still doesn't open or you've already been waiting at least an hour, please post back for further assistance.
Hope this helps.

BElectric

My oven won't heat up.
You should first check your breaker Box and Flip both polls off then back on and try it.
If both ovens wont work ((Bake & Broil)) after trying the breaker box then the High limit Thermostat could be the problem, It is located in the rear of the machine.
If this problem happened after you did a self clean, most tech's will start at the High Limit Thermostat.
I am getting an F2, then an F5 followed by
the f 2 code is ( oven too hot ) the f 5 ( watchdog circuits disagree / and f7 ( function key shorted or stuck button .. / the clock ( erc ) may have a warped face . ..I would first replace the tempt sensor in oven . if you still have problem repl clock. and problem over .. thank mm ..
