Alpine MRP-M450 Car Audio Amplifier - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
I removed the remote wire
the remote wire might have touched ground... make sure you still have voltage on the remote wire with the radio turned on....another test is jump the main red wire to remote also..
I got Alpine MRP-M450 which has three nobs on the side.
SOMETIMES THE KNOBS THEMSELVES GET STRIPPED OUT AND THE CONTROL POTENTIOMETERS ARE FINE. YOU WILL HAVE TO INSPECT THIS TO DETERMINE WHICH IS AT FAULT. IF THEY ARE NOT STRIPPED, BUT CONTINUE TO TURN AROUND AND AROUND, THEN THE CONTROL POTENTIOMETERS ARE AT FAULT. LOOK NEAR THE CONTROLS ON THE PC BOARD AND YOU SHOULD SEE THE LOCATION NUMBERS PRINTED ON THE BOARD ITSELF. SEE BELOW FOR THE LOCATION AND PART NUMBERS:
VR101 18E39146S01 VOL,ROTARY 50K
VR102 18E39147S01 VOL,ROTARY 5K
VR103 18E39145S01 VOL,ROTARY 20K
YOU CAN OBTAIN THESE FROM PACIFIC COAST PARTS AT 800-421-5080, BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE QUALIFIED TO REPLACE THEM AS YOU WILL HAVE TO TOTALLY DISASSEMBLE THE AMPLIFIER AND ALSO HAVE GOOD SOLDERING SKILLS. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE....V
Alpine mrp-m450 Amp won't stay on
im having the same problem with my amp, I took it to best buy and they said the amp was recieving power and recieving signals from the deck and i had everything hooked up right but that in the circuit board all the connections were blown, meaning i have a blown amp, i hope this isnt your problem but it definetly sounds like it. GOODLUCK
Wheres the power.. No bump
it might be that your subs are too powerful for the amp, check the model of the sub or subs online and check out how many watts they can take, because you might need to upgrade your amp or downgrade your subs
Can't get my amplifier to work.
My homie had the same problem with his escalade they adapted an rca line adapter from the factory wiring to geta signal to his amplifier and it just wasnt hitting like it should so we installed a new deck and plugged the rca cords right into it and boomboom pow it was hittin like a champ-we figured that the stock premium system that was incoprporated into the truck had some sort of an onboard amp that was filtering the bass from the door speakers and which was limiting the bass output to the rca adapter and thus on down the line to the amplifier- so maybe ya might want to look into getting an aftermarket deck and see if that helps your cause-good luck
I am looking for schematics to the mpr_m450. My
Hello slinger_101,
Even though schematics are not usually provided for car audio amps, the manufacturer would need to have them available to perform repairs. It's possible that they may send you a copy.
I'd try contacting Alpine USA direct and see if they would email a PDF. Here's the toll-free phone number:
Audio Products Technical Support (Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.)
(800) TECH-101 (1-800-832-4101)
If that does not work, you may have to send it to
Alpine for repair.
Hope this helps.
Only get sound wen rca's r in halfway
You have a bad set of RCA's. Try and get a pair specifically made for car audio. There are hundreds of brands, usually the cheap ones work fine.
What usually happens is on cheap RCA cables, wires inside the actual plug split apart and short out on one another. Get another set of cables and you'll be fine.
Power turns on briefly
Sounds like a protection problem. A relay may be stuck, or there really may be an internal problem you cannot see. Take it to a shop to have it bench tested independent of your vehicle.
When the bass cut on the speakers cut off
220 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (400 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
the amplifier may be over-driven. are there red protection lights coming on the front panel? Or a loose wire - power, ground, or speaker.
Amp light flickering
do you have a capacitor its like an extra battery, if you turn the volume way up with cvr's pullin big power, it cuts out because theres not a steady flow of power.... hope this helps
Not enough bass
its prolly the deck, did you try turning the alpine's input gain controls up...
its not the wiring, if the wiring was insuficient, it would just melt...
you might also see if you could adjust the bass frequencies or crossover frequency, the crv might just have a different resonant frequency then the rav 4
Noise
Hi
Use a low pass line filter to reduce spark interference .
Amp light is on but doesn't put anything out to my subs
if you are sure its the amp. the problem is internal. but if your not sure, try a different stereo or source of sound to the inputs of the amp. if there is still no sound than it is the amplifier and it could be a number of things.
Alpine MRP M450 Problem
Sounds like it is getting too hot and a thermal overheat protection switch is shutting it off. Check to make sure your gain isnt over 3/4.
Just died out..
Have you determined if the problem is with the amplifier or the subwoofer?
Have you checked the wiring to make sure that there are no loose connections?
The light on top on my MRP-M450 blinks and the amp doesn't work
Well if you took off the cover on the amp and nothing seems to be burn't, check the voice coils on the sub. It's possible the voice coils have separated and is causing the amp to short it self out due to ground error. If that doesn't help let me know and I'll tell you the next step.
