Fuji S9500

Unfortunately, six years appears to be about the limit for modern consumer cameras. To get it fixed would cost more than replacement.

The usb port on my finepix s9500 has fallen into the body of the camera. How can I fix it myself?

I'm afraid it not just fell in, but was pressed in. Meaning the housing had some damage to. When the camera is still in warranty I would send it back to bring it to a certified Sony repair centre. If not you still can o the same, but first ask what it will cost. To my experience (retired electronic repair engineer) it is almost impossible to repair modern electronics, without special tooling and good skills.

My s9500 zoom eats battries, i'm talking mins, it has used a set while i set the tim

Your camera will work with AA batteries. Always be sure the batteries are charged. Insert the batteries correct plus to plus and minus to minus. Only one battery the wrong way around and the camera won't work. Check contacts of the batteries and in the battery compartment of your camera. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything in or on your camera. Always charge the batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period. Also check if the battery door is closed correct. Most cameras do have a switch connected to the battery door. If the switch does not work correct, it could be you can't switch on your camera. Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In most cases, alkaline batteries have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended. Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera. They can't deliver enough power and can start leaking, causing damage to your camera.

My S9500 seems to power up with green light but no display

Do both the LCD display and the Viewfinder not work? Or did you press the EVF/LCD button? I can remember I had some panicking events with my camera, because I switched to a mode I did not understand (or even did not notice I did switch something) and only after intensive searching I found what I did wrong. My camera still works as it should, although I have fought severals times, now it is really defect. So don't panic or thing the worst. Don't think you are stupid when you take the manual, to see how settings are.

Hello my FinePix S9500 will not power up, i have

Had the same problem. Was quiet desperate. But then I remembered that the last thing I did just before the apparent death of my dear camera was to remove and put back the CompactFlash card to transfer pics. That caused a pin on the card connector to be bent, making contact with the next pin. It wasn't easy to put straight, because the contacts are rather deep inside the shaft. But that was the cure. My FinePix came back to life.
Let's hope the same thing happened to you...

Where is the microphone?

The microphone is located on the front of the camera, just behind the flash pop-up button. As far as I can tell there's no way to turn it off, but you can easily strip the audio out and replace it using video editing software on a computer. That's probably the best way to eliminate wind noise as well. Remember that the camera is primarily an image recording device. Leave the sound recording to a device better suited for it, with a microphone shielded by a wind screen. Or record the sound in a studio. But then we're getting into real money, the way "real" filmmakers work.

Batteries drain very quickly

If the recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

Takeing photo of horse raceing

That depends on what you want your photos to say to the viewer. You can use a fast shutter speed to freeze the action, or you can use a slow shutter speed and pan with the horse to convey a sense of motion. The camera is a tool. You're the photographer. It's up to you to decide what you want to do with the tool. Four photographers at the same place and time with the same camera will come away with four different sets of images.

When the Camera Is In

I don't know about your camera, but when mine is in manual mode, it allows me to set the aperture and shutter speed but does not affect the autofocus. To make the focus manual, I have to move a switch next to the lens. When in manual mode, are you setting the aperture and shutter and what are you using to determine correct exposure?

Can i change my lens

This is a fixed lens camera so the short answer is no. However there are third party accessories lenses that can be screwed to the front of the lens to give a "fish eye" or telephoto capability. To get "Macro" there is a kit available which has a series of three close up lenses these lenses screw to the front lens element of your camera allowing for some pretty impressive macro capabilities.

Again to answer your original question no you can't change the lens on your camera

My camera won't turn in

Make sure that the battery is charged and that the charger is working. If the battery isn't charging, it probably needs to be replaced.
