Does not work the connection between the camera
Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa (

I just today sent my camera to Fuji to have the same thing repaired. I've read that the on-off switch tends to fail on this camera.Mine is just a few months past warranty, of course!
this is my 3rd Fuji and 1st problem though.
Good Luck.

This is actually a very good camera.Did you insert the batteries in reverse accidently?? this seems to be a problem with the switching circuit from battery and power adapter.. did you keep the camera with batteries for a long time with out use??
U can give it to the nearest service to get the circuit checked.
all the best my friend..

When i turn on my camera all that happens is a
Possible short within the board and it can relate to a drain on the battery , This can be due to drain on the motherboard due to a short on the motor drive of the shutter. You need to check if this can be a related fault on the board but if you are not equipped it is best to take a consensus with estimation.
WHAT IS WRONG WHEN CAMERA IS DEAD? THE BATTERIES
Possible solutions are:
card or battery door tabs for cut out switches are broken or the micro switches are damaged.
Blown fuses on the board. There are several fuses on the main board and power board and to determine which one has blown you can connect an ac adapter to see if your camera will power up via mains. If it does then the fuse for the battery has blown. If neither will power up your camera then the main board fuse will have blown. To check the fuses you will need a service manual, not an owners manual, for the locations and correct types of fuses.

Hi. I just bought this exact model on ebay and it arrived with the same problem. I found many others with the same problem on various sites, but happened upon this extremely thoughtful man's album showing the steps to fix it. Thought I'd share with you.......

remove the batteries, let it sit for a week or so, then load fresh batteries and it will turn on. Apparantly the auto shut down feature prevent it from turn on until the internal memory is erased. This is a stupid problem that Fuji should fix
