Hit the lens (smack it on you're leg); that seems to be the solution..........

Wont turn on

Double check for the batteries to be in the right order, if it's a rechargeable battery, let it charge completely before you use the camera. One more thing, check battery compartment, the old battery might have had it's chemicals spilled inside, or the contacts might be dirty. If that's the case, clean it and try again.

Obvious question, have the batteries been changed? You could also try plugging it into the usb port of your computer to see what is going on.

Having gone over a month with no response to my query, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader solved the problem.

Have lost my Driver CD

You don't need any special software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto on Mac and Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ) on Windows.

My Fuji Finepix s5600 camera

Try to use you camera to format the card maybe it will be get better, else you can use a card reader to read the card and see if it's all right, or you can try to use the card with other cameras and see if it's OK. It seems your card you have used well for some time, so it won't be the wrong card type. Else you have to check if the card is one of the types which your camera support

Screen shows PROTECTED CARD and

Hello there,

The best solution to this is to take of the memory card from the camera. Inspect for the small switch on the side of the memory card and move it the other way around. This will disable the write-protection of the card.

Good luck!

Camera says card not initialized

You initialize the card using the cameras menu system. This will erase all pictures on the card.
-Press menu on the camera, then press the arrow to move to FORMAT.
-At the warning screen, "ERASE ALL DATA", use the arrow to select OK
-Press the MENU/OK button.
If you see CARD ERROR, WRITE ERROR, or READ ERROR try cleaning the metal contacts on the card with a soft cloth, if that doesn't work replace the card.
