Govideo player dv-2140

Ususlly "sticking and "stopping" is caused by only a few of things. (1) make sure the dvd/cd is free of smudges and scratches. (2) Make sure the laser eye is clean of dust or smudges. Turn player OFF, blow across eye, if need use soft dry Qtip and carefully wipe eye, blow away any loose fibers left from Qtip. Do Not try to clean with any cloth material. (3) OR your laser assembly may be sticking and not travelling smoothly. Do Not try to repair this yourself, find an electronics qualified person to check and clean this assembly.

Remote control

To get a new remote control you just go to the store you bought your dvd/vcr. They probably have some in stock, if not ask for a universal remote control.

Dvd recordings will not play

Hi,

Initially, pls verify that all the recorded DVDs have been finalized, no further recording to be done on the disc. If this finalization is not performed, the recorded discs will only play on the unit it was recorded/created on and no other standalone player.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

My dvd video player often

Your DVD player is about to break completely. The disk is spinning too slow at times. I currently have a similar problem and have not yet determined if the motor is bad or the chip that drives the motor or the main processor chip. There is a slight possiblity that a poor power supply is at fault. Because of the high cost of repair it's probably not worth repair. Oh yes, one other possibility is the lens that reads the DVD may be dirty. You can try to clean it and see if it helps, Use a cotton swab with alcohol (not the kind you drink) and gently wipe the plastic lens the dry it with the dry end of the swab. Look closely to make sure you don't leave any cotton behind. You only need a little alcohol. Don't over due it. Good luck,

The disc, after playing "loading"

This can be a problem with the player's lens that can be dirty of already damage, you may want to try first running a CD/DVd cleaner and hopefully that will fix the problem but if not you can just take it to a repair center near and let them check the unit and also to check if its needs a lens replacement...
