I bought this TV about 5 months ago, and three months ago the problem first showed up. I didn't have any sound using cable, but I still have sound on my DVDs. Cable guy came and checked it and said that the problem is with TV. I connected cable box to the TV using audio/video cable (like a composite) and it worked that way fine. However, two days ago I again didn't have any sound on any of composites (cable and DVD), for about 2 minutes, but then everything was OK. Today I came home and turned on TV, and there is no sound for about half an hour already.
Does anyone have an idea what might be a problem here?

I have a question? Do you move your Television frequently, OR do you unplug it frequently when it's not in use? I have found that doing either or both of those things can bring on problems, especially audio problems.
I've had the disappearing sound problem twice with my Element FLX-2610. This latest time I was stumped because the full scan didn't resolve the problem. And of course, the sparse manual that comes with the TV contains no troubleshooting advice at all.
But I did find a suggestion on another sveral other sites: Reset the TV. You might have a small reset button (like you would find on a DSL modem) somewhere on your TV but there is a manual way to do it two. Whichever way you do, MAKE SURE to disconnect every single device (yep, it's a pain) and UNPLUG the TV before doing this.
To reset with a reset button, disconnect devices and unplug the TV. Depress the reset button for 5 seconds. Reconnect devices, then plug in the TV.
Disconnect all devices
Unplug the Television
Using the on/off button on the Television (NOT on the remote), depress and hold the button for 5 seconds.
Reconnect the devices, then plug in the TV.
Unless something has shorted out or burned up inside, this resetting, as a last resort, should fix the audio problem. Worked like a charm for me!

Insignia NS-32LCD has sound but no picture - screen is black. Tried playing a dvd and had sound and no picture, just a black screen.

If an LCD TV has sound but no picture do the following:
Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input.
Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem.
Check all the video cables at the back of TV.
Check Light /Color settings.
If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault.
If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:
Theinverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to thebacklight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty youcan get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen bypointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface fromvery near distance.
The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.
The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
Thisis quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCDcable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.
The LCD controller board.
Thisis the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test,as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test thisboard you need to purchase a service manual and follow thetroubleshooting diagrams on service manual.
Input/Output Signal boards.
This are the boards where youconnect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faultyboard.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.

The remote worked perfectly upon arrival. The technician installing my digital box "programmed it" and now it doesn't work except for a few functions. Any ideas on how to restore it to factory settings would be appreciated.

I just bought a 32" insignia flat screen tv today and it seems to be in widescreen mode?...and I can not figure out how to get it in full screen so I can actually have a full screen picture...?
Posted by candi827 on
On your remote there should be a ZOOM button that will strech the screen to full screen it may not be a desirable look but most formats today for HD tv is widescreen format also in your menu system you can change this as well. thanks for using fixya please click the accept button.

I'm trying to program my DirectTV remote to run my Insignia TV. DirectTV doesn't show a code for Insignia TV's on it's remote programing menu. Is there another remote code that will work? Insignia is the house brand for Best Buy.

I have an insignia TV 32" and I used common code 10463 to program my direct tv remote. hope it works for you.

my input source screen keeps popping up and scrolling through the options - once I select source (example TV) the TV will come on then the input source comes back on and keeps scrolling on its own
Posted by andybauman on
My new 4K Vizio 60" M60-C3 started scrolling through input channels on it's own and after a minute would stop and "land" on an input, then I would have to change it to the correct one. Then the volume started "racing" to 100 making it impossible to watch. Vizio repairman came and replaced a small board about 1.5 in. x 5 in. and it is back working again. It fell within the 1 year warranty, so no charge, and he suggested I go back to Wal-Mart where I bought it and spend $59 on the extended warranty. I am certainly going to try and do that.

Insignia Polaroid Advent Audiovox
Tries to start then Shuts down!
Insignia IS-LCDTV32 , Polaroid FLM2601 andFLM3201, Advent 203L32K50B Also Audiovox FPE 3205 LC32K5. Cure:Replace the three 680uf at 35 volt caps at the top left of the power supply board.
It works!! I replaced the caps--about a buck each. The bad caps were swollen, and soldering in new caps wasn't hard to do. THANKS!!!

Insignia Model NS LCD32 would not turn on one morning. No Video or Audio. Just front Insignia LCD light is blinking Off and On every 5 - 10 seconds. Tried unpluging it for 1 -2 hours and restart produced no results. No power surge problem that I'm aware of. Is it worth risking 100 - 200 dollars to have it looked at. ?

I had this problem as well. Actually best buy just left my hosue to fix it. This is the second time they were here to fix it. The first time they said a part was loose. This time they had to replace a part.

It saying .. No Sync what does that mean?
Posted by kenceaser on
No Sync indicates that the input signal doesn't match the type of signal that the TV can read. A digital source going to an analog input could cause the issue.
What is your source for the signal?
If you are using the DVI connection on the TV to connect to a computer, try using the VGA input instead. Unfortunately not all TVs can interpret the computer's digital signal. (It is different than the digital signal from a set top box.)
The manual for the TV is available from the product site: http://insigniaproducts.com/products/televisions/IS-LCDTV32.html . The direct link to the manual is: http://insigniaproducts.com/cms/documents/IS-LCDTV32%20UM%20EN_SP_FR.pdf .
Please add a comment with your source and I will offer additional suggestions for solving the error.
I hope this helps.
