Can't record from TV to VCR
Most TV's send a signal out using Scart 2(AV2 on remote). So connect a scart to AV2 and to the AVin on the recorder, set the timer or manually record using the AVin as the channel. Unfortunatly you cannot use video plus as this would set to record from a normal channel. As I am not familier with the make of your tv, it's not a guaranteed solution, but I am 80% sure there is a way of sending the DTV signal out through one of the scart sockets.

Cannot get the visual from the videos
Today with HD High Definition TV these kind of problems appears because the new dvd players have more video resolution options, so, for playing all variety of dvd, and home done dvs,s (like family movies on dvd) you need set up your resolution video on your DVD player at 480i or 480p option, not higher because some DVD movies (mainly oldies) have lower resolution than newer , for example new movies on HD format have 1080 P resolution, and if you have this option chosen in your DVD player you only can see this kind of videos, on the other hand if you have chosen 480i or 480 p on your dvd player , you can play all dvd formats including home movies made with any movie software, in this way you can play dvd-r and +r movies and of cours you can play HD movies also. So put some dvd where your dvd player works well (you need see the dvd menu in the tv screen), then press stop. Then press setup in your remote control, go to video resolution and choose 480 I or 480p, then press ok AND ENJOY THE MOVIE.

WHAT IS THE BUZZING NOISE COMING FROM TV WHEN DVD IS ON
this type of noise is because some cable connection is wrong (placed or switched) or not complete assembled, check cable connections are according to dvd manual, and also check the tv manual to confirm that all cable connections are according to tv-dvd required connections.
If all wire systems is correct assembled , the next step is un-plug one by one of the dvd connections until detect the cable that is making that noise, and then change it with other, sometimes a defect is located inside the cable and this is the way to detect the defective cable. Remember follow strictly the dvd and tv connection instructions, this kind of noise 95% of the times is for wrong connections.

Trying to record tape to dvd
After recording a DVD in a DVD recorder you will need to finalize the disk. You should be able to put it in the original recorder and at least be able to watch the video.
If you are able to watch the video while you are recording then you should be able to record what you are watching. If you cannot see the video when it is sourced through the DVD recorder, then you need to adjust the input.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. (Two Thumbs Up) If you cant rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

Insignia DVD/videocassette recorder model IS-dvd1001210142
This is a good player available in the market.
ONE: Try a hard reset. Just unplug the power cord for 30 minutes or more, then try again.
TWO: If the reset does not help, you should unplug the power cord, remove the screws so you can remove the top cover. Then, have a look at the main head and try to clean it with head cleaning solution
It will not be wise for you to take the set to a repair facility simply because the repair, unless it is under warranty or you have an extended warranty plan, because the cost of repair is as much or more than the purchase price of a new player.

Screen bounces up and down after trying to go into setup and change some parameteres
You should try cleaning the out the dvd carriage with compressed air and also try to clean the laser head with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Use very little alcohol on the swab and gently rub the swab back and forth over the laser head until it looks clean and shines. Do not use to much pressure or you might damage the alignment of the laser. Check the travel mechnism of the dvd for dirt and debris. It should travel up and down the track easily. It may need to be clean and cleared of dust. If all this fails to help you, you may need service for the laser circuit at a service center. You can call this number for Insignia technical help 1-877-467-4289. Hope this helps you with your problem.
