The tape won't eject, battery
This can be caused by several problems including a defective eject switch in the cameras internal circuitry or a bad motor and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

I cant find any where to plug it into to download
Just under the battery there are two connectors (under a flap) the 1/8" is a for composite and audio... say if you want to play it back on a TV or record to aVCR/DVR. Thesecond connector is IEEE 1394 (Firewire400) This is best used for capturing to a computer as it is all digital.
I have done a ton of capture from camcorders, let mo know if you have more questions!
JVC GR-D270u Digital Video Camera
Here is the issue. Connecting this camera to your PC via USB will only allow you to download the pictures that you have stored on the camera's SD card. To download video to your PC you will need to use a firewire to 4-pin DV cable. If you do not have the software from JVC, no worries as Movie Maker on Windows XP will import video from devices for you. Movie Maker in Vista will not allow importing video or capturing from devices at all, so you will need to get the JVC software if you are oin Vista.
I am trying to find that what type of cable I
depending on what connection you have on your computer. You can use usb to usb or dv to dv. If you use usb to usb it's pretty straightforward but if you go dv to dv just make sure which dv connector you have on your computer 4 or 6 pin. If you don't have a manual for your jvc , go to their website and download one. All of the info will be in there, usually towards the back of the manual. My suggestion would be if you have a dv connector on your pc you should use that setup because it is faster than usb. But if you don't have a dv connector, usb to usb is fine. Have fun.
JVC GR-D270U
Hi,
You may not need any driver.
Just get a 4 pin firewire cable and connect to PC.
then,
Switch on the Cam.
Open Windows Movie Maker and import video from device.
4 pin firewire would look like this:

Need to Import videos from the JVC GR-D270U to my PC
I disagree VERY much with Bubbabear64. I tried what he said and I had lots of problems. The computer wouldn't import and sometimes it wouldn't recognize the camera. I installed the 2 programs that came with the camera on the CD, and all of a sudden it worked great. So install the audio driver and the picture importer on the JVC disk that came with your camera.
JVC Camcorder
Put an used casette inside; hit PLAY and then FFWD until you start seeing images. Eventually you will start seeing some with lines and then the black lines will get smaller and smaller until they turn into grainy lines. Stop and PLAY again and they will faint. RWD and PLAY back as you wish and it should be find. I think this is because of tiny dirt particles that your cassette will dust off for you.
Videocam charging and keeping moisture out
The internal charger in the camcorder has sensors to prevent overcharging. Be sure to use an original JVC battery, as there is also a sensor in the battery to prevent overcharging and the inexpensive replacement batteries will not have the same sensor (some have NO sensor at all!)., In terms of keeping moisture out, avoid going from an extremely cold environment to a hot one, or vice versa as this can cause condensation to form in the camcorder. If you are taking the camcorder to a place where it might get wet, say the beach or out in the rain, place the camcorder in a ziploc bag to protect it. Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
